    A User says: "I'm Pissed"
    "Surprisingly good!!"
What did you love best about Snapped?

The friendship of the ladies and how it evolved over time. In the beginning it was confusing with so many different characters but it became clear halfway through the book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Toya was the judgemental friend you love to hate. The one who provides unsolicited advice to everyone but truly has a big heart.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

  • The Choir Director 2: Runaway Bride

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Carl Weber
    • Narrated By Jennifer Kidwell, Marc Damon Johnson, Nicole Lewis, and others

It's been three years since Aaron Mackie succeeded in helping his friend and mentor Bishop T.K. Wilson dig his ministry out of financial ruin. Aaron is also responsible for re-energizing the almost defunct choir into something special. His success has drawn national attention, and he's on the verge of signing a huge recording contract. With his life in order, Aaron decides the time is right to propose to Tia Gregory, the church secretary who caught his eye and inspired him to shed his Tiger Woods-like tendencies.

blondredz says: "What in the world?????"
    "Too much!"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A different story and a different ending

Has The Choir Director 2 turned you off from other books in this genre?

It was not what I expected. I'm a CW fan and I have been for a long time but this book was drastically different from his other work.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narrators did a good job but again the story was confusing.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Choir Director 2?

If I could play editor I would say start over. Tia's whole story was depressing and not to mention the storyline did not match the original story. It wasn't date rape in the original book she was at a party. It was just depressing all of it.

  • Up to No Good

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 41 mins)
    • By Carl Weber

There's always a man around the corner, and church trustee James Black should know - he's usually that very man. Meet a deliciously dysfunctional family in this riveting new novel, filled with intrigue, sex, and surprises.

    Davette says: "I LIke It"
"Loved It! Didn't see that ending coming!"
Would you listen to Up to No Good again? Why?

Yes, the characters were well developed and I didn't want the book to end.

What did you like best about this story?

James Black was a womanizer but he deeply loved his children.

Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I loved Darnell's narrator he was refreshing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    I laughed and cried.

    Any additional comments?

    Awesome job Carl Weber!

  • To Paris with Love

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 48 mins)
    • By Carl Weber, Eric Pete
    • Narrated By Suzanne Cypress, Lisa Smith, Corey Allen, and others
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Ripped from the pages of Carl Weber's New York Times best-selling Family Business series comes a solo story about his most popular character to date - the bright, sexy, and deadly Paris Duncan. Join Carl Weber and Eric Pete as they go back in time and take Paris Duncan to Europe, to the finishing school where she meets her first true love, makes her first real enemy, and commits her first crime. Listeners will get a thrilling inside view into the events that made Paris the lovely but lethal woman she is today.

Dream says: "Paris in love SAY WHAT?"
"Not as good as the first 2..but good nonetheless"
If you could sum up To Paris with Love in three words, what would they be?

    Murder and sex

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nyles because of his strong soft side

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

No, the male characters were boring.

If you could take any character from To Paris with Love out to dinner, who would it be and why?

    Any additional comments?

It may be time to retire this story line. I've just read more complex characters from this author before. This book was a bit predictable which is highly uncommon with Carl Weber.

  • Who Asked You?

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 2 mins)
    • By Terry McMillan
    • Narrated By Terry McMillan, Carole DeSanti, Phylicia Rashad, and others
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Who Asked You? opens as Trinetta leaves her two young sons with her mother, Betty Jean, and promptly disappears. BJ, a trademark McMillan heroine, already has her hands full dealing with her other adult children, two opinionated sisters, an ill husband, and her own postponed dreams - all while holding down a job as a hotel maid. Her son Dexter is about to be paroled from prison; Quentin, the family success, can't be bothered to lend a hand; and taking care of two lively grandsons is the last thing BJ thinks she needs.

    JALAYNE says: "brillant"
"Love Love Love this book it kept me laughing!"
What made the experience of listening to Who Asked You? the most enjoyable?

Phylicia Rashād narration made the story sound as if you were talking to your aunt. All of the characters were highly relatable.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Who Asked You??

Luther!! He was very amusing and the most memorable moment was when he called his Uncle. I nearly wrecked my car laughing so hard. Nurse Kim was a mess and highly entertaining but my absolute favorite was Luther!

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love the narration it brings the characters to life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I don't want to spoil the story but the ending bought me to tears (happy tears).
