Loud rock, fast cars, and Cabo. This is the life of Sammy Hagar. For almost 40 years, Sammy Hagar has been a fixture in rock music. From breaking into the industry with the band Montrose to his multiplatinum solo career to his ride as the front man of Van Halen, Sammy's powerful and unforgettable voice has set the tone for some of the greatest rock anthems ever written - songs like "I Can't Drive 55", "Right Now", and "Why Can't This Be Love".

Would you listen to Red again? Why?

Yes, because I find Sammy Hagar to be a fascinating guy and I have been a fan of both his solo music and his Van Halen music as well. Also, Sammy and I have similar upbringings mine in San Jose, CA his in So Cal.

What other book might you compare Red to and why?

    None

    Which scene was your favorite?

I really like the end of the book when Sammy talks about helping others that might think that they cannot make it in this world of ours because they were born under a bad sign. He gives hope and that's cool.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I was absolutely gripped to this book.

    Story

Craig Beck is a well-regarded family man with two children, a nice home and a successful media career. A director of several companies & at one time the trustee of a large children’s charity. Outwardly, Craig was a highly successful & functioning professional man in spite of a ‘2 bottles of wine a night’ drinking habit. For 20 years he struggled to control his drinking, all the time refusing to label himself an alcoholic because he didn't believe he met the stereotypical image that the word portrayed.

Where does Alcohol Lied To Me - Extended Edition rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Compared to the other books on this same subject, this book makes the most sense to me.

What did you like best about this story?

I like that Craig had me look at alcohol from a different prospective then I have ever done before. I agree, it is poison.

What about Craig Beck’s performance did you like?

Very good performance. Other then him bumping into his mic a few times and making me jump out of my headphones, he did a great job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

I recommend this book for anyone that wants to get a chemical understanding as to what alcohol happens to be.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

No not for me, But if YOU have never sought help before for alcohol addiction this book will help you to better understand what is out there and the basics of each program. That was not the case for me as I have been out there.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting was when the writer explained all the options that are currently out there for those looking for help. The least interesting was the repetitive use of the word "Master's."

Would you listen to another book narrated by Anne M. Fletcher?

    No, I don't think so.

Was Sober for Good worth the listening time?

    No, not for me.
