Ok. This is a fun story with suspense, action, nice modern romance, and some humor. So the story is fun, but the narration is awesome!
I had not liked any other male narrators for romance, they usually have trouble with female voices and read sex scenes like they were a battle scene, or they over act it.
But Kaleo Griffith is PERFECT!!! He has a rich sexy voice, does diverse voices and accents, acts the story perfectly without over acting, has perfect pace, and his interpretation just adds to the romance!
This book is much better being listen to, because of his reading. Very well done all through this series! Get it, you will not be disappointed.
Audible, bring more Kaleo Griffith please...and give him romance to read!

A hand-picked cadre of warriors, they had the fierce courage of their Scots forefathers, combined with the stealth and cunning of the Indians who lived beside them in the wilderness. Battling the French in a no-holds-barred combat, they forged a new brand of honor, became a new breed of men - MacKinnon's Rangers. Iain MacKinnon had been forced to serve the British crown, but compassion urged him to save the lovely lass facing certain death at the hands of the Abenaki. He'd defied his orders, endangered his brothers, his men and his mission, all for a woman. But when he held Annie's sweet body in his arms, he could feel no regret.

This series is very much history, action, adventure, and romance in the style of the movie ( not the book) "the last of the mohicans". Clare writes great stories that keep you entertained from beginning to end, and balance suspense, romance and adventure in a perfect way.
The real magic happens in this audio book with this amazing narration.Griffith is just excellent!
I have listened to over 400 books, and in my opinion there are only two masters of narration that never get it wrong: Roz Landor and Kaleo Griffith ( who is fairly new on the scene, but must have gotten great training and has an amazing voice and talent). There are other good narrators but these two are just a cut above the rest.
Audible, please bring more Pamela Clare and more Kaleo Griffith!
Enjoy this book and the rest in the series, they are great fun and worth every credit!

Gray was beautiful four years ago, when he asked Isabel to marry him. Now there are no words to describe him. He is no longer young and reckless, not by any stretch of the imagination, but a tormented man, driven by secrets, silent about what he’s done since he disappeared. She knew how to handle the boy he was, but this man…this man is not tamable. Does she dare explore the places inside herself that Gray demands to possess? Does she trust him enough to bare herself completely to a lover who has returned as a stranger?

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger- how can audible accept this bad performance?

    Any additional comments?

This narration was just the worse! there is no way to rate the story because Sarah Coomes just killed this book. It is almost like she decided to make fun of the book.

I have heard her in other books and she was fine, maybe not the greatest, but not bad at all. In this book, it was so bad that at times it was commical-every male voice sounded like a badly constipated old man; the entire book is over-acted and sounds like a bad parody, but not in a funny way.

I am very surprise that audible published it as is- where is your quality control?
DO NOT DO IT-bottom line- it is not worth anything, even free it is impossible to listen to it.

Smite Turner is renowned for his single-minded devotion to his duty as a magistrate. But behind his relentless focus lies not only a determination to do what is right, but the haunting secrets of his past - secrets that he is determined to hide, even if it means keeping everyone else at arm's length. Until the day an irresistible woman shows up as a witness in his courtroom. Miranda Darling isn't in trouble - yet. But she's close enough that when Turner threatens her with imprisonment if she puts one foot wrong, she knows she should run in the other direction.

do not waste your credit. practically impossible to listen to this story. I cannot tell you if the story is good, because it was so hard to follow. slow, overacting, droning voice that does not fit this type of book at all. It may have had potential because there are interesting notions in the story, but again, I cannot tell you because it was so hard to follow. I am not happy that I didn't get to follow this trilogy to the end. I suggest that audible will have another production of this book narrated by Bianca Amato or Roz Landor.

After all, if she has an heir on the way, her future will be secured. Forsaking all she knows of propriety, Martha approaches her neighbor, a London exile with a wicked reputation, and offers a strictly business proposition: a month of illicit interludes... for a fee.

What would have made A Lady Awakened better?

    a different narrator

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

no reaction- this book was not very good

How did the narrator detract from the book?

    YES!

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    hard to think of.

    Any additional comments?

the story may have been bearable if the narrator was better. but she was slow, too 'harsh', didn't do voices well-she should read documentaries or biographies. This book may have been an o.k listen if Rosalyn Landor read it, she is much better with this type of book, maybe then it could have been a two or three stars, but this was truly agonizing.
I read the other reviews and thought I will find something different, so I ordered this book- Do not do it!!! it is a waste of the credit!

Red Days is a true story about two love affairs that took place during the British Mandate in Palastine.

The two love affairs were tied together in a fascinating story, involving Shoshna, the daughter of the well-known Zionist leader Dov Bar Borochov and undercover police officer Tomas Vilkin; and Roni Berstein and Avraham ("Yair") Stern, the leader of the Lechi (Lochamei Herut Yisrael - Fighters for the freedom of Israel) underground organization.

This is an exciting modern novel, describing unknown sides of Israeli reality. The characters are lost in both bereavement and laughter, and dream about peace as something more than what can be expressed in song. Fragile Heroine is a story about living life during war, and going on.

I thought she was TERRIBLE. she needs to learn how to read. slow, monotone, no character voices.

    Any additional comments?

well written and good. but the narrator KILLS it. why do you keep bringing Hebrew books with this narrator? bring more from Barak Sagi, he reads well in Hebrew. or better yet, find someone e;se. I am SURE Israeli listeners have other options.
