  • Deconverted: A Journey from Religion to Reason

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 51 mins)
    • By Seth Andrews
    • Narrated By Seth Andrews
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Assertions like these seem comical until you realize that many Christian parents aren't kidding when they teach them to their children as facts. Every day, impressionable young minds are conditioned to blindly accept wild biblical tales of floating zoos, talking shrubbery, 900-year-old humans, the undead, curses, levitation, demon/human hybrids and men who obtain super-human strength from the length of their hair. Allegiance to these teachings is expected, often demanded.

"Poor Reasons To Become An Atheist"
Would you try another book from Seth Andrews and/or Seth Andrews?

I'm a Christian with an interest in apologetics. A year or so ago, I started looking into the Atheist worldview. I've listened to his podcast, The Thinking Atheist, and wanted to give his book a read, for research purposes. I'm not impressed at all.

He bases his "de-conversion" on poor reasoning and a distorted idea of what Christianity actually is. While Seth is a gifted narrator (from his background in radio), he nonetheless blasphemes the God who made him.

Would you ever listen to anything by Seth Andrews again?

I would not waste my money on another book. His arguments don't really offer anything new.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

This book didn't make me angry, rather sad that Seth didn't have a better Christian foundation before he started questioning his faith. It's easy to fall away from a shallow, superficial version of Christianity. As he says in the beginning, "[He] was never really saved." But I pray God would draw Seth to Himself and grant him repentance and faith in Christ.

  • The Case for a Creator

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 43 mins)
    • By Lee Strobel
    • Narrated By Lee Strobel

Lee Strobel became convinced that God was outmoded. Today science is supports the conclusion that the universe was intelligently designed. Darwinism has faltered in the face of facts and hard reason. Science definitely gives faith a boost as new findings emerge about the complexity of our universe. Strobel re-examines the theories that once led him away from God. You'll encounter discoveries from cosmology, DNA research, and human consciousness that present evidence in The Case for a Creator.

"Great Audio Version of A Great Book!"
Where does The Case for a Creator rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm into apologetics, and already own a copy of this book. However, it's a fantastic one to have in audio format, especially when read by Strobel himself. Thanks for offering it.

What other book might you compare The Case for a Creator to and why?

It's an antithesis to The God Delusion, for one thing. Then again, Dawkins' book is poorly reasoned, so maybe the comparison is a tad unfair...

Have you listened to any of Lee Strobel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is my first. I own several of his books in written form, though.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I just really appreciate the content, and it's convenient to have in audio form.
