In a time long forgotten, a preternatural event threw the seasons off balance. In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. As the cold returns, sinister forces are massing beyond the protective wall of the kingdom of Winterfell. To the south, the king's powers are failing, with his most trusted advisor mysteriously dead and enemies emerging from the throne's shadow.

This book is narrated perfectly, in my opinion, but I am afraid that I can only say that after having read the books. This made me familiar with all of the names of the characters, which really helped. The narrator does a wonderful job of making the characters have unique voices, and although I was initially afraid that listening to this kind of graphic novel would be awkward, the narrator made the difference in hearing this vs. reading it. I wholeheartedly recommend this to any fantasy-loving adult reader.

This novel tells the story of Jane's early life, her experience at Lowood School, and as a governess. Her refusal to accept Rochester's love on any but her own strictly moral terms is a passionate cry for independence.

I really enjoyed this story, and the narrator is excellent. The reason I gave this book four stars is because some of the chapters are out of order in parts two and three, and could be a bit confusing for someone who didn't know the story well.
