In his newest collection of essays, David Sedaris lifts the corner of ordinary life, revealing the absurdity teeming below its surface. His world is alive with obscure desires and hidden motives, a world where forgiveness is automatic and an argument can be the highest form of love. Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim is another unforgettable collection from one of the wittiest and most original writers at work today.

    FanB14 says: "Read on...Hilarity Ensues"
    "Not his best"
    Overall

Perhaps the success of his previous books made someone think that his fans would enjoy his sardonic tales of growing up gay in a very disfunctional family. What I hoped would be wry observations come across as detatched and bored, or even self-pitying. Try his other books.

How could the performance have been better?

I am beginning to suspect the reader is a machine. Today (or was it yesterday?) he actually said 'now here' when the story read 'nowhere'. And he constantly mispronounces the Koch brothers' name. I know a 'cold read' can be a real challenge, but isn't this guy supposed to be a professional?
