Quinn Andrews has a lot to learn about the world of BDSM. Once America's sweetheart, she has an opportunity to revive her career by playing a sexual submissive in a highly anticipated new series. Quinn is ready to throw herself into the role, and her hometown's premier sex club, The Den, is the ideal place for a crash course. At first Marcus Reese is reluctant to take on Quinn's erotic education, despite his intense attraction to the stunning starlet.

Plot: Professional "dom" from good middle class family turns wealthy, famous actress into pain loving, exhibitionist "sub" in less than a week. Really? While I don't claim to understand the whole dom/sub thing, I don't see any woman adjusting to a totally different lifestyle that fast. And I didn't warm up to the professional dom; a man who gets PAID to pain to inflict physical pain and provide sexual gratification. While well written and humorous at times, the whole story left me cold.

Although Sierra Sellers is, and will always be, the lifeline between Luke McCoy and Cole Ackerley, everyday life proves to be the true test of the bond the three of them have forged. No one ever said life was going to be rainbows and butterflies after the three of them admitted their love for one another.

    Story

I was glad to hear that Luke stopped hitting Sierra while she was pregnant, but that didn't make his character any more appealing to me. Luke was so obsessed with what he needed and wanted that he didn't seem to care if Sierra, Cole or Hannah were happy.

As usual, Cole was a sweetheart; why he choose to make a life with Sierra and Luke was still a puzzle to me. Sierra seemed slightly more mature in this book, maybe from becoming a mother but she still needed to grow a backbone. Their decision to have a child seemed rushed, as if having a baby would instantly make their relationship solid.

I was surprised that Sierra, Luke and Cole continued to have public sex at the new BDSM club (Devotion to making money). In this age of camera phones and social media, don't they realize that baby Hannah might one day be embarrassed by color photos of Daddy, Mommy and Daddy getting down & dirty?

Speaking of Hannah, how will she cope when her classmates and their parents find out that, not only does Hannah have 2 dads but that one of them is a Dom who likes to hurt women. And at what age will be Hannah be allowed to hang out at Devotion? How would Luke & Cole feel if it was Hannah being bound, whipped and penetrated for a cheering crowd?

Sorry, I just couldn't get into a story that mixed starting a family with running a sex club.

We can stumble upon a connection in life - a feeling, an instinct even, having an uncontrollable desire to act upon it - all the while knowing that acting upon it may or may not be the right thing to do. The thing is it's in that action where we prove our initial feeling to be right or wrong.

    Story

For me, one of the best things about the Temptation series, was the character of Alexis. I loved these stories about a strong, self-confident woman in her prime (35) who was smart, sexy and a dedicated mother. While rocky and chaotic at times, Alexis's relationship with Bryce was romantic, caring, humorous and ALWAYS respectful.

Most of Fulfillment was great - I laughed and cried as Alexis and Bryce persevered through a difficult situation to become closer than ever. So I was surprised and disgusted when scenes involving SPANKING were introduced into their sex life. What crap! Alexis would never allow any man, including Bryce, to hit her and Bryce was not a bully.

At one time spanking was considered an acceptable tool for punishing disobedient children; it was meant to instill pain, fear and humiliation in hopes of exerting parental control. What sadist decided that striking women was erotic - I would like to knee him in the balls so he could enjoy the same treatment. Even if not painful, spanking another human being is the ultimate act of degradation and contempt - NOT sexy, NOT fun, NOT erotic.

I instantly fell in love with Bogart, a police dog who was rescued from a kill shelter by Shay, a warm hearted woman looking for uncomplicated affection and companionship. Hiding from an violent ex, Shay was likable and determined not to let the jerk ruin her life.

I never really warmed up to James, Bogart's human partner who tracked down his missing canine partner and totally jumped to the wrong conclusion. Instead of being professional and respectful, James treated Shay like a criminal. What an ass! While James redeemed himself, it took some of the fun out of the story.

    Story

I really hated this book about 2 sadist men (Richard and Cameron) whose life ambition was to torture and humiliate anyone foolish enough to get sucked into their bizarre world. They owned/operated a private club where violent and degrading behavior was encouraged.

They hired Mia, an incredibly naive 21 year old virgin to be the club's secretary and promptly begin to seduce her with expensive gifts and physical threats. Somehow Mia, an orphan desperate for affection, was brainwashed into loosing her virginity and self respect.

Mia was just pathetic, too immature and childish to appreciate that selling her soul for a few moments of male attention was too stupid for words. While rich and attractive, Richard and Cameron were smug, arrogant, self absorbed and shallow.

I didn't find Enthrall erotic, romantic or sexy - I don't find abusive, violent or self destructive behavior entertaining. It was particularly disturbing that Cameron (a psychiatrist) used his medical training to hurt rather than heal people - he would have made a great Nazi.

I was hoping Breaking Creed would be more about search dogs and less about blood, gore, guts and torture. Unfortunately, I was disappointed.

Ryder Creed could have been an engrossing character, hunky warrior turned dog trainer. I just felt his character (as well as his employees) wasn't explained or developed. There was lots of action, with more time spent on describing torture than personalities.

Also, I couldn't tell if this book was part of the series about Maggie O'Dell, a federal agent. She popped up in the story with little explanation, as if the readers should know her back story. It almost seemed like chapters where missing...

The premise of Caught in a Trap was insulting to my intelligence. Kit supposedly made up a cruise ship fling and the man's name just happen to be Rafe, the ship's owner. Really?

Then Rafe showed up at her apartment and insisted that Kit move out to his ranch and pretend to be his fiancé - never really understood why.

Some of the characters were endearing and the dialogue was very funny at times, so this author may have talent - maybe this was an early work.

Being kidnapped by bikers is a harrowing experience, but for some reason Laurie doesn't feel as terrified as she should. The leader's steely eyes soften when he looks at her, and the others in his gang clearly know she's hands off. But does that include Steele's hands? Her brain resists him, but her body insists she wants those big hands all over her. Steele doesn't know how he wound up in this mess - with a kidnapped woman on his hands and the police hot on their trail.

While I believe Opal Carew is an incredibly talented writer, I didn't find enough actual story in Riding Steele to be interesting. None of the characters were developed to the point where I cared what happened to them.

Laurie (maybe early 20s) was rescued from her abusive boyfriend by Steele, a biker who travels with a group of close friends. The bikers were protective of Laurie, but expected her to have unprotected sex with each of them.

The bikers were portrayed as great guys, who just happen to never hold a job or believe in monogamy or safe sex. I kept wondering how they could afford gas, food or bike maintenance. Men who don't work or bathe regularly are not sexy or romantic to me.

Breakwater Bay had lots of potential with the backdrop of Newport's historic mansions, solving a family mystery, a feisty grandmother and sarcastic teen. However, I didn't connect with the 2 main characters Meri (30) and Alden (42).

First, I couldn't get over the idea that Aldan helped babysit Meri - their families were neighbors- and Meri treated Alden like a combination big brother/favorite uncle. When they started having sex as adults, it almost felt like incest.

Mostly, they both acted so wimpy. When Meri's boyfriend moved to California, she didn't seem to care but still acted like she wanted to marry him. Alden allowed his bitchy ex-wife to tell him how and when he could see his children, as if there was no custody agreement.

The author has obvious talent, so would try another book by Shelley Noble. The narrator was okay but didn't do an authentic New England ascent.

I might have liked Anna (the masseuse) if she was more mature and less wimpy. When Anna met Alec (cold macho man), she agreed to a sexual relationship with no strings. Alec shared nothing except his bodily fluids and kept disappearing without explanations.

I lost interest before the half way mark, due to a total lack of character development and dispassionate sex scenes. Alec professed to "care" for Anna while acting bossy and condescending, then started hitting Anna as "punishment" for her lack of faith in him.

Anna thought that good orgasms equaled to an emotional connection; if Alec is f**king me, then he must love me. Really? Anna needed therapy to grow a backbone and develop self-respect. I couldn't be bothered listening to the rest - life is too short!
