Would you listen to More Tales of the City again? Why?

Yes. Love the series and love the characters.

What does Cynthia Nixon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    The voice of Mary Ann

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Laughed quite a bit

    Any additional comments?

A great series. Fun to see these characters eventually give up their secrets ( but not all of them ) in San Francisco in the seventies. A fun read and listen. I probably enjoyed reading just a bit more than I did listening to it. Highly recommend.

Wounded in the line of duty, NYPD homicide cop John Corey is convalescing in rural eastern Long Island when an attractive young couple he knows is found shot to death on the family patio. Suddenly, a local double murder takes on shattering global implications - and thrusts Corey and two extraordinary women into a dangerous search for the secret of Plum Island....

What disappointed you about Plum Island?

I just really didn't care about the characters. The narrator really got on my nerves with his reading style. Made it waaaaay too long.

Has Plum Island turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Can't say

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Just didn't care for his style. He made me really dislike the lead character and thus the book itself.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment

    Any additional comments?

Too long and just couldn't wait to finally finish it. I don't mind the length, just wasn't nearly enough story to keep me interested. Didn't like the characters much.

If you could sum up Shadow Prey in three words, what would they be?

    Davenport, suspenseful, exciting

Who was your favorite character and why?

While I guess Davenport but another character, it would be Lily. I enjoy the whole cast of characters in the Prey novels though.

    Any additional comments?

I have read most of the Prey series and love it. Am going back and listening to them in order. This is his second book. The narration is excellent. Does not disappoint. I highly recommend this series.

The Thomas Berryman Number begins with three terrifying murders in the South. It ends with a relentless and unforgettable manhunt in the North. In between is the riveting story of a chilling assassin, the woman he loves, and the beloved leader he is hired to kill with extreme prejudice.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This was one of the shortest books I've listened but one of the longest. The story was so convoluted and boring. I'm not even sure I could tell you what it's about. I don't recommend this at all.

Would you ever listen to anything by James Patterson again?

I will probably give another try but only because this was his first. Not a good start for him at all.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Will Patton?

I didn't really dislike the narrator. Just the story itself.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    No
