Mark Bramhall is, by far, the best narrator of the Drizzt series. He brings every character to life and makes scenes come alive with his colorful accents.
The final battle against the Ghost King was intense, but the subtle parts with Ivan Bouldershoulder fighting off the mental intrusions of the mind flayer were just as intense for me.
Mark Bramhall can voice act like no other narrator. He's not one to hold back when he has to do a surly dwarf with a scotsman's accent, or a troubled drow that is contemplating the death of a friend. Truly, he is the best I've heard.
I find it hard to listen to the newest Drizzt novels since Mark Bramhall is not the narrator. The characters just lack the depth that he injects into them with his voice. I've resigned to just buying the paperbacks and reading them myself, using Mark Bramhall's accents in my inner monologue.
