Every city has its secrets. New Orleans more than most. New Orleans is the most haunted city in America where Voodoo was big business, slavery even more so, and no government official or newspaper dares to tell the truth. Into this strange world arrives the street orphan, Victor Standish, from Charon's Greyhound. Charon has to keep up with the times...the End Times. Victor has survived mean streets, but now he must cope with Zombie Love and the haunted French Quarter.

What did you love best about The Legend of Victor Standish?

I loved how Lee Harpster caught the personalities of the various characters. His Victorian Alice Wentworth captured her haunted essence. He switched accents from Old West to Victorian to street urban without missing a beat.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Victor Standish and his refusal to give into the fear and doubts of his life. His sense of humor made me laugh repeatedly.

What does Lee Harpster bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Harpster brings a depth of performance to his narration. His comic timing makes the puns and snarky comments of Victor come alive.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extremes. I just had a great time.
