This unique comedic audio release takes fans behind the curtain to explain how he turned a tired, vaudevillian art form into something truly modern and hip. Loved the book! It was fun to hear how Jeff started out and how he progressed to where he and the guys in the suitcase are today.

Why are atheists angry? Is it because they're selfish, joyless, lacking in meaning, and alienated from God? Or is it because they have legitimate reasons to be angry - and are ready to do something about it? Armed with passionate outrage, absurdist humor, and calm intelligence, popular blogger Greta Christina makes a powerful case for outspoken atheist activism, and explains the empathy and justice that drive it. This accessible, personal, down-to-earth book speaks not only to atheists, but also to believers who want to understand the so-called new atheism.

What disappointed you about Why Are You Atheists So Angry??

Could not get past the reasons this Atheist was so angry! Obviously she was a former Catholic who must have had some truma in her childhood considering she spend minutes bashing catholics and only two seconds to say she is angry at "what happened on 911. Greta, please move to an athesist or muslum country if you are so angry here!!!!!!!

What do you think your next listen will be?

Probably something light and fun! Maybe a Chet and Bernie story.

How could the performance have been better?

    it sounded forced.

What character would you cut from Why Are You Atheists So Angry??

    The author!

Please refund my credit so I can use it for a good book! Thanks!

With its endearing blend of humor, wisdom, and insight, Soul of a Dog, by New York Times best-selling author Jon Katz, illuminates the interaction between humans and animals.

Although he features his ever-faithful border collie, Rose, Katz also includes revealing observations about Mother the murderous barn cat, Elvis the doughnut-loving steer, and his other dogs - Izzy, Lenore, and Pearl.

Leslie-Ann says: "Katz Does it AGAIN!!!!"

Would you listen to Soul of a Dog again? Why?

Yes! If you love animals, you will enjoy this book.

What did you like best about this story?

It was fun to read and at times thought provoking! You will feel as if you know the animals on the authors farm after reading the book.

What does Tom Stechschulte bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The readers voice and inflections really helped you "experience" the farm.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

If you love animals, this is a must see!

Bill Bonanno, son of legendary mafioso Joe Bonanno, takes you inside the mob at its peak, when New York's Five Families - the Bonanno, Gambino, Colombo, Lucchese, and Genovese - not only dominated local businesses but also controlled national politics. In this true crime story, Bonanno provides a remarkable glimpse into the underworld of yesterday and today, from Bugsy Seigal to John Gotti.

What made the experience of listening to Bound by Honor the most enjoyable?

The story was very interesting. The fact that the story was written and read by the Son made listening even more enjoyable!

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

After years of hearing various accounts of the "mob's" help in getting President Kennedy elected, it was facinating to hear Mr. Bonanno's account of that issue.

    Any additional comments?

Mr. Bonanno's inside view of the Mafia is quite different from what you read or have read in press accounts.

  • Monkey Mind: A Memoir of Anxiety

In the insightful narrative tradition of Oliver Sacks, Monkey Mind is an uplifting, smart, and very funny memoir of life with anxiety - America’s most common psychological complaint. We all think we know what being anxious feels like - it is the instinct that made us run from wolves in the prehistoric age and pushes us to perform in the modern one - but for forty million American adults, anxiety is an insidious condition that defines daily life. Yet no popular memoir has been written about that experience - until now.

Would you try another book from Daniel Smith and/or Paul Michael Garcia?

    No!

What was most disappointing about Daniel Smith’s story?

The book was advertised as a sometimes "funny" memoir about the authors anxiety. However it was much more about his sexual exploits then his anxiety. Had to stop reading after a couple of chapters! Not funny, very little about anxiety, nothing like I was expecting.

What character would you cut from Monkey Mind?

    All of them!

    Any additional comments?

I don't think the person who wrote the description of the book for Audible ever read the book! I really would like my credit back as I beleive the book description was very misleading.

In Obsession, John Douglas once again takes us fascinatingly behind the scenes, focusing his expertise on predatory crimes, primarily against women. With a deep sense of compassion for the victims and an uncanny understanding of the perpetrators, Douglas looks at the obsessions that lead to rape, stalking, and sexual murder.

Would you consider the audio edition of Obsession to be better than the print version?

I prefer the audio editions with my busy schedule! I can listen while I exercise or when driving. This book is a great example of why, in some cases, audio can be better then print since the Author was also the reader!

    Any additional comments?

I had the opportunity to hear John Douglass speak in person many years ago. His passion for the work he did was very evident in his presentation to the audience. That same passion is there in his book.

Ted Kerasote met and adopted Merle, a Labrador mix, while he was on a camping trip. Merle had been living in the wild, and after taking the dog home with him to Wyoming, Kerasote soon realized that Merle could not adjust to inhabiting exclusively the human world. So he put a door in his house to let Merle live both outside and in. A deeply touching portrait of a remarkable animal, Merle's Door explores the issues that all animals and their human companions face.

What made the experience of listening to Merle's Door the most enjoyable?

I really enjoyed listening to the authors thoughts on Merle's expressions and what Merle was thinking!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Merle! He has such personality even someone who does not like dogs would surely love Merle.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Picturing Merle "skiing" down the powder slope.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Towards the end of Merles life when he was having health problems I was in tears. I could feel the loss as if he were my dog.

    Any additional comments?

If you now love or ever loved a dog, you must read this book!

  • Every Breath You Take: A True Story of Obsession, Revenge, and Murder

"If anything ever happens to me, promise me that you will see that there is an investigation...And find Ann Rule and ask her to write my story," Sheila Blackthorne Bellush told her sister after she divorced multimillionaire Allen Blackthorne. Now, in perhaps the first book ever written at a victim's request, America's best selling true-crime writer, Ann Rule, untangles a horrific web of lies that culminated in Sheila's savage murder more than 10 years after she left Blackthorne.

    krista says: "Well worth it"
"Incredible story written by an awesome writer!"
    Overall

Ann Rule has an incredible writing style that engages you from the start. Not many authors can do that, but her insight into each case plus her background in law enforcement give her a completely different view from any other writer.
