Her name is Clara Rinker, a southern woman, trim, pleasant, attractive, and the best hit woman in the business. She isn't showy; she just goes quietly about her business, collects her money, and goes home. It's when she's hired for a job in Minnesota that things become complicated for her. A defense attorney wants a rival eliminated, and that's fine. But then a witness survives, the attorney starts acting weird, this big cop Davenport gets on her case, and loose ends begin popping up faster than on an unraveling sweater

What a great book. Wild ride with crazy people and Oh, do I love the narrator. Richard Ferrone does a perfect job. He's so good I'd feel cheated if I had to read one of these instead of listening to him read it.

Dr. Temperance Brennan, Forensic Anthropologist for the Province of Quebec, digs for a corpse where Sister Elisabeth Nicolet, dead for over a century and now a candidate for sainthood, should be lying in her grave. A strange, small coffin, buried in the recesses of a decaying church, holds the first clue to the cloistered nun's fate. The puzzle surrounding Sister Elisabeth Nicolet's life and death provides a welcome contrast to discoveries at a burning chalet, where scorched and twisted bodies await Tempe's professional expertise.

Good book. Every once in awhile I think she's wondering too far afield but then she brings it back and it all ties together. Good book but you have to pay attention. Like the budding romance.

Narrator was better on this one.

The "Big Three" are a trio of inmates locked up in the Minnesota Security Hospital over the years, each a particularly vicious serial killer, each with his own distinct style and propensities. Everybody feels much safer knowing that they're behind bars. Except...there's a new killer on the loose. And his handiwork bears a disturbing resemblance to some of the finer points practiced by the Big Three, details that never even made the papers.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for every one of these. Love them all. Lucas and his band of merry men have broken up but it's still a great series.

Richard Ferrone does such an amazing job I'd feel cheated if I had to read one of these instead of listening to him narrate.

Six months ago, Lucas Davenport tackled his first case as a statewide troubleshooter, and he thought that one was plenty strange enough. But that was before the Russian got killed. On the shore of Lake Superior, a man named Vladimir Oleshev is found shot dead, three holes in his head and heart, and though nobody knows why he was killed, everybody - the local cops, the FBI, and the Russians themselves - has a theory. And when it turns out he had very high government connections, that's when it hits the fan.

As always Richard Ferrone did a wonderful job.

The last thing patrol cop Kate Prospero expected to find on her nightly rounds was a werewolf covered in the blood of his latest victim. But then, she also didn't expect that shooting him would land her a job with the Magic Enforcement Agency task force, who wants to know why she killed their lead snitch. Book 2 in the Prospero's War series continues where Dirty Magic left off.

    I liked this but I didn't. It's actually closer to a 3 1/2 ****Spoilers*****

The author wants to have it both ways. We're suppose to think that Porpero's cooking Magic is terrible but she did it to save her brother. Not much villainy there. Then there is her friends magic potion abuse. The woman had busted ribs and whiplash. Addiction is hard to lick but it's hard to condemn people who get caught up trying to heal. So, their bad because of magic use is their big bad secrets but it doesn't wash. And frankly I'm tired of the addiction preaching. I'm glad Propero's gotten over her aversion to cooking and realizes good can come of it. For that reason alone I might read the next one.

Oh, and I'm also tired of her knocking John. He's done nothing that makes him the enemy but she doesn't want to admit that she still has a thing for him so she never gives him a break but she goes to him when her cases get tough. I also think she needs to admit that maybe there is a chance he's changed as well. Her condemnation is getting old.

Really good book. It's always nice to read an Anna and Charles story. They are so good together. All her secondary characters were really well done, same with the plot.

Josef made me really sad until the end. I thought the end really worked out well for him and everyone. Narrator did a great job. I finished this the day it came out so that tells you how good I think it was.

It's June in Montreal, and Dr. Temperance Brennan, who has left a shaky marriage back home in North Carolina to take on the challenging assignment of Director of Forensic Anthropology for the province of Quebec, looks forward to a relaxing weekend in beautiful Quebec City. First, though, she must stop at a newly uncovered burial site in the heart of the city. The remains are probably old and only of archeological interest, but Tempe must make sure they're not a case for the police. One look at the decomposed and decapitated corpse, stored neatly in plastic bags, tells her she'll spend the weekend in the crime lab.

In Naked Prey, John Sandford puts Lucas Davenport through some changes. His old boss, Rose Marie Roux, has moved up to the state level and taken Lucas with her. In addition, Lucas is now married and a new father, both of which are fine with him: He doesn't mind being a family man. But he is a little worried. For every bit of peace you get, you have to pay - and he's waiting for the bill. It comes in the form of two people found hanging from a tree in the woods of northern Minnesota. What makes it particularly sensitive is that the bodies are of a black man and a white woman, and they're naked....

FBI Special Agent Matthew Roarke is closing in on a bust of a major criminal organization in San Francisco when he witnesses an undercover member of his team killed right in front of him on a busy street, an accident Roarke can't believe is coincidental. His suspicions put him on the trail of a mysterious young woman who appears to have been present at each scene of a years-long string of accidents and murders, and who may well be that most rare of killers: a female serial.

I liked this book. She did a good job on the ending. She left it wide open for the next book but not so that you felt like it was left in the air. This was just the first part of the arc. I bounced back and forth between the ebook and the audio and both were done well.
