Blair Mallory lives the good life. She's pretty, confident, and the owner of a thriving upscale fitness center. But in the shadow of success, a troubled member of the club develops a strange fixation on her, imitating her style and dress. Matters take a darker turn when the look-alike is shot dead - and Blair witnesses the horror.

What would have made To Die For better?

I hate to be so hard on someone... but this narrator is horrible. The book is a light read, and amusing, a fun story. But this narrator makes everyone sound whinny, and ninety years old! I couldn't stand to listen! I bought the book and finished the story... to this day if I pick up that book and open it.... I hear that grating voice in my head!

What other book might you compare To Die For to and why?

The second book is also good, and a good narrator ... should have used her in this one.

What didn’t you like about Franette Liebow’s performance?

Whine, and drawn out sentences, everyone sounded like a dying cow.

Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this. Evelyn Thomas' plans for celebrating her 21st birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man in her room, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened. One thing is certain, being married to one of the hottest rock stars on the planet is sure to be a wild ride.

What would have made Lick better?

I wish Audible would list a categorie for "Teen Explicit Sex" I admit I should have read the reviews closer instead of just scanning them. When I flew by one reference liking to "Shades of Grey" I should have known... this was a young adult listen.

What could Kylie Scott have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I use the word "adult" loosely here... this book started with promise, quickly dropped into a young adult genre... which I could have enjoyed... but halfway through it became a teen drama.. a sexually active teen.

What three words best describe Andi Arndt’s performance?

Good reader... she stayed with the drop in age and IQ.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Embarrassment

    Any additional comments?

Audible please give these books their own categorie.

Most girls might think twice before getting engaged to someone like Reyes Farrow - but Charley Davidson is not most girls. She’s a paranormal private eye and grim-reaper-in-training who’s known to be a bit of a hell-raiser, especially after a few shots of caffeine. Her beloved Reyes may be the only begotten son of evil, but he’s dark and sultry and deeply sexy and everything Charley could hope for. Really. But when the FBI file on Reyes’ childhood happens to land into her lap, she can’t help herself: She opens it...and then the real fun begins.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would get rid of the constant sarcasm... Is Charley likeable? The sarcasm, and lame jokes are beyond annoying. And we get it, Reyes is good looking... the redunance of bring this to light is overkill, and the overuse of the word hashtag was like counting cars on a passing train.

What was most disappointing about Darynda Jones’s story?

This could be a wonderful series. The potentional is amazing... BUT... and this is a big but! Most of the characters come to life... But Charley seems to watch life from a stage... disengaged, viewing her life as a huge joke, almost as if the life really belongs to someone else, someone she doesn't particularly care for. Then she procedes to detail Charley's life with the attitude of a bad stand up comic.

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Lorelei King is the only saving grace in this listen.

Did Sixth Grave on the Edge inspire you to do anything?

    Yes... write this review.

    Any additional comments?

I have read the other books in this series. I guess this one was the straw.

Alexia Tarabotti, Lady Maccon, has settled into domestic bliss. Of course, being Alexia, such bliss involves integrating werewolves into London High society, living in a vampire's second best closet, and coping with a precocious toddler who is prone to turning supernatural willy-nilly. Even Ivy Tunstell's acting troupe's latest play, disastrous to say the least, cannot put a damper on Alexia's enjoyment of her new London lifestyle.

Would you consider the audio edition of Timeless to be better than the print version?

Emily Gray gives a wonderful edge to the story and because of her ability to bring more to the story I would have to say the audio is best. Although I did buy the books and read each one with her voice in mind after listening.

What did you like best about this story?

The whole concept of the story is such fun!

Have you listened to any of Emily Gray’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No I have not.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    What an adventure!

    Any additional comments?

Give it a try... you won't regret it, and may love them as much as I did!

A wandering husband, rich and powerful. A spoiled kid awash in gambling debt thinking he can beat the system. Charley Davidson isn’t your everyday, run-of-the-mill grim reaper. She’s more of a paranormal private eye/grim reaper extraordinaire. However, she gets sidetracked when the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, moves in next door. To further complicate matters, Reyes is her main suspect in an arson case. Charley has vowed to stay away from him until she can find out the truth... but then dead women start appearing in her apartment, one after another, each lost, confused, and terrified beyond reason.

Would you try another book from Darynda Jones and/or Lorelei King?

The story concept for this series is great... and I have stuck with it hoping the writer would grow up and drop the juvenile sarcasm... it gets very old and takes from the flow and quality of the book. The need to sound hip and in the moment is annoying too. Just write a good book... it's in there.. I'm just getting tired of weeding it out.

It was whispered all through London society that he was a murderer, that he'd spent his youth in an asylum and was not to be trusted - especially with a lady. Any woman caught in his presence was immediately ruined. Yet Beth found herself inexorably drawn to the Scottish lord whose hint of a brogue wrapped around her like silk and whose touch could draw her into a world of ecstasy.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The reader has the voices ok.. but reads the book as if it is an instruction book for a toaster or directions to assemble a bookcase. That becomes annoying!

If you’ve listened to books by Jennifer Ashley before, how does this one compare?

My first... and would like to continue in the series, but if I do I will buy the books, not endure the reader again.

What didn’t you like about Angela Dawe’s performance?

Might as well have been reading a techinal manual.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story line was good and developed characters.

    Any additional comments?

Different reader would have made a world of difference.
