I've loved Sci Fi and Fantasy since I was a teenager, too many years ago! I have been gaming just as long and currently run in a DragonQuest system. I've been married 35 yrs. with 2 kids, 4 cats and a moose in training - a LARGE Dog. I found audible a few years ago and I LOVE it!!!

When empath Jade Calhoun moves into an apartment above a strip bar on Bourbon Street, she expects life to get interesting. What she doesn't count on is making friends with an exotic dancer, attracting a powerful spirit, and developing feelings for Kane, her sexy landlord. Being an empath has never been easy on Jade's relationships. It's no wonder she keeps her gift a secret. But when the ghost moves from spooking Jade to terrorizing Pyper, the dancer, it's up to Jade to use her unique ability to save her.

On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast.

It is not often that a book can be the beginning of a series and yet be a stand alone that is satisfying as it is. I don't know if there will be others, I hope so but would be happy if it was a singleton. The intriguing view of werewolf and vampire like aliens as well as other travelers was great. There is so much repetition in this genera that anything different is welcome. I have listened to Raudman's narration on other books but this incarnation was amazing.

Lauren is downtown Chicago's youngest elite realtor. She's also a witch. She must be - the fetching spell for Witches' Chat isn't supposed to make mistakes. So says the woman who coded the spell, at least. The tall, dark, and handsome guy sent to assess her is a witch too (and no, that doesn't end the way you might think). What he finds in Lauren will change lives, mess with a perfectly good career, and require lots of ice cream therapy.

I rarely dislike narrators as I love the spoken word but something about this one turned me off completely.

Mags returns to the Collegium, but there are mixed feelings--his included--about him actually remaining there. No one doubts that he is and should be a Herald, but he is afraid that his mere presence is going to incite more danger right in the heart of Valdemar. The heads of the Collegia are afraid that coming back to his known haunt is going to give him less protection than if he went into hiding. Everyone decides that going elsewhere is the solution for now.

I adore the Valdemar world and most of Mercedes Lackey's books in general which is one of the only reasons I stuck with this series. The other is Nick Podehl, his narration made the characters live. In fact it may have been his voice as much as the authors words that made me want to shove a steel rod down the main characters spine. Every time Mags's inner voice would escalate emotionally out of control I would cringe. Not many narrators can do that to me.
This 5th book finally answers many questions and is the best one since the 1st book. It is obvious there will be more in the series but it could end here. This series has been the weakest of all Mercedes Valdemar stories for me. Maybe now that is has taken Mags 5 books to stop his emo whine the series will improve.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

Wil Wheaton is the perfect narrator for this romp of a story. I could sometimes see his wry expressions in my mind as he made the characters come to life. As always with the best narration it was easy to lose myself in the vivid images his voice brought to life. The bleakness of the world Cline created was contrasted beautifully by the virtual reality. I am sure every Sci and Fantasy reader out there has dreamed of the possibilities. As others have said it is a wild and wonderful romp worth your time and your credit

Mother, wife, private investigator... vampire. Six years ago federal agent Samantha Moon was the perfect wife and mother, your typical soccer mom with the minivan and suburban home. Then the unthinkable happens, an attack that changes her life forever. And forever is a very long time for a vampire. Now the world at large thinks Samantha has developed a rare skin disease, a disease which forces her to quit her day job and stay out of the light of the sun.

    Story

It is an odd story that gives you no idea how vampires or werewolves came to be in an otherwise bland society and why there are only a few. Her vampires are interesting in that they are not really dead and they can be out in the day with some precautions. I liked the way the main character deals with her transformation and how she tries to continue a "normal" life. It has possibilities and I will listen to the second to see where it is going but more because I'm curious than because it's a great book.
