Sam Blackman is an angry man. A chief warrant officer in the criminal investigation detachment of the U.S. military, he lost a leg in Iraq and has been outspoken in his criticism of his medical treatment. Then, ex-marine and fellow amputee Tikima Robertson walks into his hospital room, hinting that she has an opportunity for Sam to use his investigative skills. But before she can return, Tikima is murdered.

If you could sum up Blackman's Coffin in three words, what would they be?

    Good Story Line

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blackman's Coffin?

I can't pick out just one. I appreciate good humor in a story, and this definitely has a lot of good lines that made me laugh.

Which character – as performed by William Dufris – was your favorite?

Once again, hard to choose, I liked Sam, both the Robertson sisters, and Nathan but most of the other characters too.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    I laughed a lot!

    Any additional comments?

I have listened to this book many times, and would do so again. Excellent use of humor, good story line, and a lot of real historical facts.

Welcome to Grace Valley, California - where blood runs thicker…ties are stronger…and love is all the more sweet. Visitors to the town often remark about the valley's peace and beauty - both of which are plentiful. Unlocked doors, front porches, pies cooling in the windows - this is country life at its finest. But visitors don't always see what lies at the heart of a community. Or just beyond.… June Hudson grew up in Grace Valley, the daughter of the town doctor. Leaving only to get her medical training, she returned home and followed in her father's footsteps.

    Another good read!

Who was your favorite character and why?

June Hudson is a down to earth Doctor who goes out of her way to help everyone, even if she has to locate the person who can help most when she can't personally do the work.

What does Therese Plummer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like the fact that Therese Plummer has read every Robyn Carr book I have purchased, because I can recognize the character from one book to another, just by their voice. She makes the voice fit the character. I do not have the ability to read in voices of the characters, I think listening to the different voices and having them remain consistent adds to the depth of the ongoing story. I have listened to series books by other authors where there is a different person reading every book, and I catch myself thinking, 'That voice is not right!'

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Absolutely!

    Any additional comments?

I do a 3-3.5 hour drive twice a week and I always listen to audible books on the drive. It is a great way to pass the time if I get stuck in traffic.
