If you are looking for a great mystery or a serious read, this book is not for you. However, if you want something to make you laugh and don't mind hearing some truly silly stuff, you will love this and the other Stephanie Plum novels. I listen in my car going back and forth to work, and Janet Evanovich and Lorelei King are great stress relievers!
I love Samantha Young's romance novels! She has quickly become one of my favorite authors, and always brings life's challenges to the forefront in ways that completely captivate her readers.
After waiting years for a conclusion to a good series, this book is nothing more than a filler. Is Sylvia Day struggling with an ending or is she just trying to get more money out of us?
Give us some answers and a good conclusion.
How long will we have to wait now to find out what happens? Will the next book be worth anything? Not happy!
In this novel, Samantha Young beautifully created characters that came to life and mattered to me. The performance was perfect and the emotions the story provoked will long be remembered. I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book!
There are so many romance novels today; many like this one containing lots of sexuality. Although Ms. Bromberg, like so many others, has also dealt with child and sexual abuse in her prior books, Slow Burn stands alone for me in dealing with a topic that touches a great many more lives.
I enjoyed Book 2 far more than Book 1, and am really looking forward to the next installment. What a complex relationship!
I would definitely listen to this book again and am finding it very difficult to understand the complaints of some other reviewers. Just about all the questions left after Bared to You were answered and the story development was extremely well done. While the first book bothered me a bit by sounding somewhat of a knock off of the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, Reflected in You distinguished itself as a separate entity and was very well written. Can't wait until the last book of the series is released in December.
I was most happy that while the steamy obsession continues, this book took the relationship between Eva and Gideon far beyond just sex. I loved that healing has been taken to a new level for both damaged lives.
The very last scenes when questions were answered was my favorite part.
As someone who has experienced the depth of great love personally, there were some tears.
The characters are complex, the story line is sometimes difficult to follow, and the change of voices takes getting used to, but it's all well worth the effort. I laughed, I cried, and I was deeply moved!
I enjoy the Stephanie Plum books very much, because after reading something "heavier" I often need to laugh for a change of pace.
Ann Ross really knows how to make her readers laugh. Miss Julia has tickled my funny bone many times over the years. What a character!
