No where near as good as the first two in the series. Really quite boring. I couldn't see where any of the storyline fit into the series. It started out very good and seemed like it might answer some questions left dangling in the first, but degenerated into a talk fest, soul searching, waste of my time and money drag. I was very disappointed. I might read the next in the series, and if it is this bad, I might request my money back.
Couldn't even make it to Chapter 4. Don't waste a credit. Enough said.
I rarely listen to anything other than Sci-Fi, but found myself drawn to this author. While others feel the narrator wasn't up to snuff, I liked the world weary aspect of Welliver's reading. I hope this isn't the last we hear from Bosch.
Just can't listen any more. Another one jumps on the Vanilla S&M Dominance Band Wagon.
Also, the Droning Carpathian Language and Translations! On and On! Had to return only 1/3 of the way through the narration.
I was hoping this was another series in which to lose myself. It starts out fairly well, but I wanted to throw it out half way through the book. The explanations for the main character's actions and her dialogue are preachy and extremely judgemental. The words "It's/that's stupid..." are used constantly. I almost downloaded the e-version, just to count how many times "stupid" occurred.
I found the main character unequivocably unlikable, and this was disappointing. I liked the idea of a former police officer turning into a bounty hunter, and maybe my expectations were too high. As the story progressed, I found myself less and less sympathetic to this character.
I would have given it one star, but I still feel this series could be salvaged. It has a decent premise, but it reached the point where I felt "stupid" listening/reading it.
I bought this book from the First in Series sale and enjoyed the story and am listening to the the rest of the books.
Love Lorelei King and the way she brings life to the characters. I am buying the second book as soon as I finish this review.
I don't have any plans to read any more of this series. But, if they go on sale for half the price of a credit, I might.
Way to leave them wanting more! I felt it ended too soon, but I hope it's because going any further requires another book, and another book.... You get the idea.
I am looking forward to the next book. I hate getting hooked on a series and then waiting for the next. In my world, they would be available immediately. Just kidding, but I loathe standing in line, figuratively and literally!
I love this series! The books just keep getting better and better. If I was younger, I would want to be Jane for Halloween!
