I would rank this book in my top Five of all crime novels written in the past 20 years!
The lead-in to the crime usually involves a good bit of tedium in these books, not here, the narrator paints a vivid pre-crime atmosphere.
The narrator adeptly brings the characters to life and draws the listener in immediately. Great Job!
It was concerning to learn the ambivalence the murderer and his accomplice showed toward the victim.
I would really like to hear more from this author and narrator on other true crime events.
Bourne has written a tidy little zombie story here with a new twist; first person narrative. The daily diary reveals the unfolding events in a more immediate and personal way as compared to most of todays tiresome undead novels and stories. Snyder reads as if he has just uncovered the diary and is sharing it with us.
Wow, what a great job by the narrator. I have never heard such great voice work by a male speaking for females. Usually, it is poorly executed - not here. Great character differentiation as well. The story was also interesting and atmospheric, making great use of location descriptions. Highly recommend.
