The September 11 assault on the World Trade Center was the most sophisticated and horrifying in a series of operations masterminded by Osama bin Laden and his Jihad group - an organization that CNN's terrorism analyst Peter Bergen calls Holy War, Inc. One of only a handful of journalists to have interviewed the world's most wanted man face to face, Bergen explains the Jihadist network that operates globally and in secrecy.

Last summer, The New Yorker published chef Anthony Bourdain's shocking, "Don't Eat Before Reading This." Now, the author uses the same "take-no-prisoners" attitude in his deliciously funny and shockingly delectable audiobook, sure to delight gourmands and philistines alike.

Say what you want about Bourdain but you get nothing less then what you should expect. If you don't know his personality then this may not be the book for you, Rachael Ray has a book you may enjoy more. Going into it knowing what I know about Mr. Bourdain I loved it. I think I only stopped listening for a few hours during the entire read and that was to cook. It could be an eye opening experience for those who are not aware that Luis Sanchez is cutting up their sushi.

  • The Black Banners: The Inside Story of 9/11 and the War against alQaeda

On September 12, 2001, FBI Special Agent Ali H. Soufan was handed a secret file. Had he received it months earlier—when it was requested—the attacks on New York and Washington could have been prevented. During his time on the front lines, Soufan helped thwart plots around the world and elicited some of the most important confessions from terrorists in the war against alQaeda—without laying so much as a hand on them.

This is an excellent story if all of it could be heard. Some chapters are written just like this, "Blank wanted to tell blank that blank said blank." The story, at times, is so edited that hearing "Blank" repeatedly became annoying. Half the time you could understand what "Blank" meant but when you hear "Blank was going to interrogate blank until blank said that blank was not blank." it wasn't so easy. Heads up that the writer says that it could soon be a completely unclassified book and that you may want to wait until then to purchase this one.

A highly decorated captain in the U.S. Army, Luis Montalvan never backed down from a challenge during his two tours of duty in Iraq. After returning home, however, the pressures of his physical wounds, traumatic brain injury, and post-traumatic stress disorder began to take their toll. In constant physical pain, he soon found himself unable to climb a simple flight of stairs or face a bus ride to the VA hospital. He drank; he argued; he cut himself off from those he loved. Then Luis met Tuesday, a beautiful and sensitive golden retriever....

    Story

A long, disjointed rant. Jumbled and confusing, I found myself skipping back countless times to try and figure where the author was going only to find out it was no where. The author says he would drink everyday, he would drink every night so that he could sleep but that he was not an alcoholic. He says that any smell of middle eastern food sends him back to the horrors of Iraq yet takes his new girlfriend to a Lebanese restaurant on their first date. Post traumatic stress disorder is all this book is about because in the author's eyes it is the root of every problem that he has faced in his adult life. I have anxiety, I have stress so where is my disability money? Where is my Ambien, Xanax? I made the mistake of only having this book downloaded onto my phone and was therefore held hostage to this rant during my long car ride. Never again will I only have 1 book on my phone.

Save your money if you think you will be reading a book about a dog. This book is only about a disgruntled soldier that enlisted long before the Iraq war thinking that he would never see combat.

On May 2, 2011, at 1:03 a.m. in Pakistan, a satellite uplink was sent from the town of Abbottabad, crackling into the situation room of the White House in Washington, D.C.: "Geronimo, Echo, KIA." These words, spoken by a Navy SEAL, put paid to Osama bin Laden’s three-decade-long career of terror.
