GREAT read, I loved it.I do have a issue with ONE thing, that has been an issue with all of cussler's books. Continuity, Maurice, has become "MORRIS". Same guy, same attitude, different name, and slightly different voice, and there were other issues of lack of continuity. WHY does Cussler insist on botching continuity so badly in so many of his "Series". But, the book was never the less excellent, and at the top of the Oregon files books. The only Cussler series I read any more. I would highly recommend it to anyone, even if they've never heard of Cussler or the Oregon Files. A VERY tiny basis in fact, surrounded by a great non stop action Yarn.
Finding "Dullah's yacht upside down, but floating to a degree, and The crew of the yacht (most of them) and Linda Ross safe in a water tight bilge.
Scott Brick MAKES the story. Were it not for him, I would NOT have purchased the book.
It is one of the top 3 books he has written. Though the performance byPetkoff is Miserable, and DOES take away from the overall audiobook, I'm blind, and have NO CHOICE but to put up with him, IF I want the story. The narrator that was used on the abridged 4 tape audio books, was SO MUCH better, He made the stories WORK! I have ALL of those all 21 Travis Mcghees that is.
When Travis McGhee meets his daughter, and finds out her mother was "Puss", the Jolly Random Redhead.
Lose that LOUSY NARRATOR, Robert Pletkoff! I have Heard worse, but, I cannot remember where.
"Wanted" by a Cartel, usually means DEAD! Live, and you meet the teenage daughter, you NEVER knew you had!
Above all else, PLEASE use another narrator. Try Scott Brick. Another GREAT book by John D. Macdonald, and, it's his LAST! John D. MacDonald is a Great Loss to the world, and I'm sure his loss to those that loved him most, Is SO much greater than his great loss that those of us such as Myself, who loved him through his books feel.
THIS is Koontz at his best. Starts a bit slow, but, OH BOY, does it pick up. It takes you places you never thought you'd go... Twists and turns in the plot galore, KEEP THE LIGHTS ON AS YOU LISTEN TO THIS, I'm blind, NO PROBLEM! ;-)
DO NOT forget to get the follow up book to this, after you listen to this, called "Sieze the Night". IT's as good or better than "Fear Nothing". BUT, read them in order!
