Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

    Overall

I am one that does not usually rate audio books, generally they are somewhat the same and only add to the author's imagination when they create new fandangled contraptions to capture the readers attention. I took a chance a listened to Enders Game and was very surprised to find that the numerous reviews I read before making the purchase were very right. This audio was very good and kept my attention throughout the entire set of disks. After you listen to this one, I am confident that you will turn to the other audio books in the series and listen to them all. You may find after listening to each of them you will establish an order of favorites for yourself. Take a chance and listen to this one first and you will be hooked on the series as well.

Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

He was the story and the ending

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You never know what stage we are playing on in our real lives

    Any additional comments?

The reader should try and figure out what is happening in next chapter before listening to it. Surprises abound in this audio book

In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

Yes without a doubt, great story line keeps you interested. There are a few turns that were unexpected and kept me glued to the ipod.

What does Mark Boyett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His method of voice infliction was super and well done, he mastered the book and gave it life

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was but I usually listen to books as I drive, this one I wanted to sit in the car and listen without stopping.

    Any additional comments?

I am waiting for the next one out in May. It is now on my wish list and will be downloaded as soon as it hits Audible

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive—and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plain old "human error" are much more likely to kill him first. But Mark isn't ready to give up yet. Drawing on his ingenuity, his engineering skills—and a relentless, dogged refusal to quit—he steadfastly confronts one seemingly insurmountable obstacle after the next. Will his resourcefulness be enough to overcome the impossible odds against him?"

What did you love best about The Martian?

The story moves fast and is believable from the readers prospective. You can actually feel the pain and suffering that one man goes through to get home

What did you like best about this story?

Was believable and was very good in rationalizing what would actually happen on Mars as one person tries to fight to get home, science fiction is meant to be on the edge of reality but this story captivates you and makes you realize that this may really happne

Which character – as performed by R. C. Bray – was your favorite?

They were all good and well narrated by Bray, Just go listen to the book and you will be in a trance wanting to solve problems on Mars

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes there were many and I would not want to give anything away, a must read to enjoy. I value it by realizing that when I got home from driving my car I did not want to go inside and stop listening.

I have been listening to these audio books for many years while driving from site to site. This book was very good listening and the story was very well timed and keeps you listening for what will unfold next. Characters enter the story in perfect order and support the writer’s vision. Not like some I have read where the story line jumps and you cannot follow the events. This will entertain you and pass the time without you realizing it.

The top-secret structure has been designed for one purpose: to excavate a recently discovered undersea site that may hold the answers to an ancient mystery.

This exceeded my expectations in where the story line has its surprises and as you try to reason the next step you find yourself off track. Plot unfolds very well and keeps you interested in what is happening. Narration was well handled and I would not be surprised if something like this really happens and governments keep everyone in the dark.

I have nothing but praise for the way this collection was developed. You need to have all three audio books to fully appreciate the complexity of the story as it unfolds. Green was able to mix and blend a masterful selection of characters into his story line with great success. If you are somewhat skeptical, just acquire the first Deathstalker episode 1-5 and you will surly want the remaining two.

Alien battle fleets converge on earth at the beginning of the twenty-first century. Technology and intrigue blend to form a graphic study of politics, morality, and the brutality of total war. A bitter, hard fought war is raging that ranges from the depths of interstellar space, to a nuclear Battle of the Atlantic, to savage assassinations, and Machiavellian usurpations of power and control.

One of the few books dealing with war with an alien race pitted against mankind that keeps your interest throughout each of the three parts. I found that I was captivated by the story and how it unfolded as you listen to events and how humankind stands up to alien dictatorship. If you are one that likes to listen to an uncomplicated well read audio book then this is for you.
