I picked up this book because I have been on a kick of memoirs narrated by the author lately - not because I was a Kevin Smith fan. That has now changed.
Kevin Smith takes his signature wit and applies it to the story of his life so far. He is blisteringly funny when tearing into himself and also does a great job showing off why he and Tarantino were the golden boys of dialogue driven movies.
I can recommend this book to anyone looking for a good chuckle, anyone even passingly interested in Kevin Smith or someone who wants to hear some of the behind the scenes goodies of Smith's movies. Like the title though, it contains a lot of bawdy language, so make sure you are wearing your headphones.
The Bruce Willis / Cop Out chapter was amazing and actually made me question my preconception of Hollywood stars as well.
Get this book and enjoy having a hard time turning it off.
Adam's other book "In fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks" is a must read companion to this book. To truly get the gist of what it was like to be Adam Carolla growing up and all the hilarity that entails you need to read both books.
I would sit in my car and listen long past I got to my destination because I couldn't wait to hear what was next in the crazy stories.
Here's hoping that Adam is busily working on his next comedy opus. That way I can have another several hours of smiling like crazy while driving around or sitting in the park.
