Ninety-nine elite American soldiers are trapped in the middle of a hostile city. As night falls, they are surrounded by thousands of enemy gunmen. Black Hawk Down drops you into a crowded marketplace in the heart of Mogadishu, Somalia with the U.S. Special Forces - and puts you in the middle of the most intense firefight American soldiers have fought since the Vietnam War.

    "Mr. Bowden does his homework"
    Overall

"Black Hawk Down" gives the listener/reader a glimpse into the mind of the professional soldiers that make up Delta Force and the United States Army Rangers. "I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country." These are dedicated, selfless, heroic men and Mr. Bowden has done his best to put the story of this part of their history forward for us.

Thirteen years have passed since David Webb was last forced to assume the alias of the assassin Jason Bourne. Now, with one phone call, Webb is thrust back into the madness.

    Mark says: "Ultra Abridged"
    "Dreadful"
    Overall

Darren McGavin is difficult to understand at best in this rendition of "The Bourne Ultimatim" which makes for a long and difficult listening experience. His ability to switch voices is limited and thus leads to considerable confusion for the listener. Combine this with a very poor recording and music mixing and it is just not worth the listeners time or investment. The abridgement is extreme and the story line suffered. I was not going to finish but held on hoping it would improve toward the end, it didn't. I will read the book to see just how much I missed.

If this had been done as well as the Bourne Legacy it would have been great.
