Dubbed the American Tolkien by Time magazine, George R. R. Martin has earned international acclaim for his monumental cycle of epic fantasy. Now the number-one New York Times best-selling author delivers the fifth book in his spellbinding landmark series - as both familiar faces and surprising new forces vie for a foothold in a fragmented empire.

Would you listen to A Dance with Dragons again? Why?

I would not listen to this again as I almost never listen to any audiobook more than once.

Which character ??? as performed by Roy Dotrice ??? was your favorite?

Mr. Dotrice did his best but I believe that he has lost the ability to vary his voice for most of the characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I am extremely disappointed with the direction the saga is heading. With all of the characters that I had an emotion investment in dead by the end of the book I am left feeling cheated.

    Any additional comments?

Mr. Martin has managed to remove all hope from this series. He has gone on a bloody rampage slicing the core characters from the story.

Five days after Owen Zastava Pitt pushed his insufferable boss out of a 14th story window, he woke up in the hospital with a scarred face, an unbelievable memory, and a job offer. It turns out that monsters are real. All the things from myth, legend, and B-movies are out there, waiting in the shadows. Some of them are evil, and some are just hungry. Monster Hunter International is the premier eradication company in the business. And now Owen is their newest recruit.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend this book everyone I know but some may enjoy it. The supernatural takes a backseat to the author's love of weaponry and acts to promote a distrust in governmental authority surrounding self arming.

What could Larry Correia have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Reduce the weapons speak by 65% and increase the mythological aspects of the subject matter.

What about Oliver Wyman’s performance did you like?

Oliver did s super job. In fact I will look for more works read by him because his narration saved me from returning this book.

Was Monster Hunter International worth the listening time?

Not really. There are better stories out there even by the same author. I bought this because it was on a buy one get one special and I had listened to Hard Magic which is by far more creative than this book.

When we last left the mighty wizard detective Harry Dresden, he wasn't doing well. In fact, he had been murdered by an unknown assassin. But being dead doesn't stop him when his friends are in danger. Except now he has nobody, and no magic to help him. And there are also several dark spirits roaming the Chicago shadows who owe Harry some payback of their own. To save his friends - and his own soul - Harry will have to pull off the ultimate trick without any magic....

This story fills in a lot of missing information about Harry's past. Like the other books Harry succeeds in doing what is right at his own expense. The new narrator brings a fresh voice and perspective to the read. His voice is easy on the ears. The is an obvious bridge to Harry's next adventure I can't wait.
