I have listened to John Hart and Scott Sowers in the past and enjoyed the collaboration. This time my expectations were truly surpassed with the performance of them both. I didn't want it to end and I would welcome the return of any characters that made it out of this book alive to return for the sequel. This story was so exciting and the characters so complex...that I didn't know who to like or who to despise. Nothing is clear cut in this one. And it works!
The narrator was mediocre and the story line had (unfulfilled) potential, but OMG it was hard to get through this one. I kept hoping that something great was going to happen or that one of the characters would compel me to feel something besides irritation....but noooo. It was dry and very forgettable. Giving the characters a little depth would help to add a star.
No, I am a fan of historical romance. One bad book didn't spoil the whole genre for me.
SE's performance was unremarkable.
Pride. I was proud of myself for actually listening to the end.
This is such an audible "page-turner". There was excitement from beginning to end! My only problem is trying to locate another book by this author. I hope the Dr. Character stays on the Table of Contents. Great Listen.
This is definitely worth listening to. The reader is engrossing and Archer is at his best in this one. I didn't want it to end.
