All decent parents want to do what's best for their children. What Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother reveals is that the Chinese just have a totally different idea of how to do that. Western parents try to respect their children's individuality, encouraging them to pursue their true passions and providing a nurturing environment. The Chinese believe that the best way to protect your children is by preparing them for the future and arming them with skills, strong work habits, and inner confidence.

    "LOVED IT!"
    Overall

This was such a heartwarming and endearing story, told through the heart of a mother-a GOOD mother, Tiger or no. I fell in love with her family, from her in-laws, to her sister, Katrine, and even Coco & Push! I was sad to hear it end and I wish Amy, Jeff, Sophia, and Lulu all the best in life and love! I hope that Hollywood buys the rights and makes it into a movie; I'll be the first in line to buy a ticket!

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

    Overall

Tina Fey does not dissappoint in this hearty, effervescent, and fluid novel that spins the tragedy of life's blow-ups into an uber-fun autobiography! I love Tina! As I was listening to this book on audible.com, I laughed out loud so hard and so many times that I awakened my sleeping baby, who was not happy!

My favorite quote: "I have a rounded belly, supported by my rounded posture, which is sustained by all of my push ups, mostly of which is none..." or something like that!
