Rachel Gibson’s “eloquent prose” (Publishers Weekly) has earned the author a number of coveted awards, including the RITA, Golden Heart, and National Reader’s Choice. Nothing But Trouble features an injured, prickly Seattle Chinooks hockey player who is none too pleased to be bedridden.

Tormented by self-imposed guilt, Dr. Lena O'Donnell has spent the last nine years in survival mode. Struggling through days that seem to blend together and battling her way through each horrifying night, she's determined that this is what she deserves.... Mason Langley's life is going exactly the way he planned it, until her. A confirmed bachelor and the successful owner of the hottest restaurant to hit Chicago, he never expected to be blindsided by an angry woman in a pair of scrubs. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to shake the doctor.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The character herself was disappointing. But also, the writing style was repetitive. Most readers remember that the character is narcissistic and oscillates widely between lust and the cold shoulder. There is no need to remind us by repeats of the same scene in a different locale.

Would you recommend Exquisite to your friends? Why or why not?

No. Far too many Romances are written this way. Women want to read books about themselves. Real women, real situations, realistic fiction. Not a romantic ideal that is far too common to find on the shelf of a 2nd hand store, boring us after the first few chapters.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Some of the flirting scenes were pretty good.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

A realistic female character, who wasn't fabricated by the Lifetime Channel.

    Any additional comments?

Wishy washy woman, meets put together man who puts up with all her self loathing/recrimination, even though he has a slew of women lined up. Yeah, she's educated, but she is also juvenile, and oscillates between madly in love, and cold shoulder just to test how interested he is.
