Unbiased History Lesson! Stuff you've forgotten from those Jr. High & HS lesson, recapped here. Fabulous to look back at the lives and times of leaders in years gone by. Hours and hours of interesting stories. Makes you wish, you could've lived 100 years ago to see all the amazing things that have happened over time.
No. It seemed that the author could have taken advantage of current day scenarios that would have delivered the point more effectively. I waited for it, but just never got the big bang viola, that I've gotten from his previous works.
I have. Some did in fact like it better than I, however they hadn't read his previous books.
This was fine. Gladwell has an excellent speaking voice. Tone and tempo are perfect.
I look forward to his next publication.
I would highly recommend this book to a friend! Many friends, and already have! It's a wonderful account of the service this patriot has given to her country and what an insightful leader she is. She's got the creds. Let's hope she's asked to serve again in the next administration. We're gonna need honorable folks like Ms. Rice to straighten out the mess we're currently in!! This book proves that she is a solid human being. Worthy of a higher office!
The simplistic intro to the topic enticed me to continue. It follows logic and can be applied to a variety of life situations.
The middle-end was a bit beyond what I was looking for, more technical than necessary for my interest.
For my interest, I would like for the author to continue with a more practical application of the subject. For other readers, this might be just what they're looking for.
Not for me but I did not read through to the end.
Have a nice day!
I can't get into the book at all, the narrator is repulsive! She sounds like a spoiled brat who has always had everything handed to her. Definately not someone I would EVER associate with, therefore can not listen to her telling this story.
I don't know, may never know, I can't get past the first few chapters.
I may never know.
As you can probably tell, I am extremely annoyed by the fact that the narrator has ruined what could have been a great book (I'm told by my 'visual' reader friends).
First hand account
The author explained the process so precisely & gave the reader the best understanding of the motives and logic behind the decisions that are used within the intel community to keep our citizens safe. I trust now, even less than I ever have, the media for taking the work of these individuals so far out of context. The sad thing is, so much has been revealed as a result of the fact that the CIA had to defend themselves that we may less safe as a nation than before this issue was raised.
That the folks within the Intel Community are humans too!
How blatantly un-American our Liberal media has become.
Very definately worth the time to read/listen!
The fact that these documents were all assembled and packaged so concisely.
Short, sweet, to the point assessment of what we were about to read/hear.
They got me in the first few minutes. Hated interruptions!
Find a philantopist who would give this audible to EVERY HIGH SCHOOL/or/College Graduate! Or somehow, instead of music in elevators, trains, airplanes, airports, PLAY THIS! Too good to be true! Thank you, Ms. Cushman!
I would highly recommend this read/listen for anyone who wants to understand this statesmans point of view and how difficult it is to operate within the US Federal Government. I have much higher regards for Mr. Cheney. Media has no right to critisize him. I wish more men could live up to the standards he held for himself! Do read!
In my Time!
I wish he would write more books!
Learned a lot about the processes that hold processes together. Such great research went into this book. Loved it. Loved hearing all the details about the research, it all makes so much sense!
Definately a story not to be missed! If you believe the Greatest Generation deserves credit for you own moral compass, you need to listen to this story that contributes to the understanding of it all.
The author did an excellent job researching the period and his life. Certainly kept my attention for the 6+ hour story. Hated when it ended. Hope she'll look for more hero's to focus on in her next books!
I wasn't sure what to expect, but felt this was very respectfully written, especially since the author goes to great detail to explain the research he's done & how he has (really) dedicated his life asking the same questions all Christians ask. Very good for someone who is confused about their committment to Christianity.
