Seven years ago, Professor Gabriel Kennedy's investigation into paranormal activity at Summer Place ended in tragedy, and destroyed his career. Now, Kelly Delaphoy, the ambitious producer of a top-rated ghost-hunting television series, is determined to make Summer Place the centerpiece of an epic live broadcast on Halloween night. To ensure success, she needs help from the one man who has come face-to-face with the evil that dwells in Summer Place, a man still haunted by the ghosts of his own failure. Disgraced and alienated from the academic community, Kennedy wants nothing to do with it. But Summer Place has other plans....

Where does The Supernaturals rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really enjoyed this story. It was gripping and you were pulling for the characters. It has a moderate level of suspense. I will check out other titles by this author because this book was so good.

One ordinary winter afternoon on a snowy island, Anders and Cecilia take their sixyearold daughter Maja across the ice to visit the lighthouse in the middle of the frozen channel. While the couple explore the lighthouse, Maja disappears - either into thin air or under thin ice - leaving not even a footprint in the snow. Two years later, alone and more or less permanently drunk, Anders returns to the island to regroup. He slowly realizes that people are not telling him all they know....

    What disappointed you about Harbor?

I tried three times to start this book. It's reviews were OK and I thought I was just missing something. It starts really good. Then it gets bogged down in something, I don't know what because the story could not hold my interest. I forced myself to listen to the first download this time and again - I can't even begin to tell you what the story is about.

When the world was young, and its name was Faerie, the power of magic ruled - and the Elfstones warded the race of Elves and their lands, keeping evil at bay. But when an Elven girl fell hopelessly in love with a Darkling boy of the Void, he carried away more than her heart. Thousands of years later, tumultuous times are upon the world now known as the Four Lands. Users of magic are in conflict with proponents of science. Elves have distanced their society from the other races. The Druid order is threatened.

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

    "Thought Provoking - Good Book"
    Overall

This book fits well into the apocalyptic literature category. It is set in western North Carolina and is about a post Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) world. The book is different than most of the fiction I like. It is very thought provoking and much debate is on the web about the effects of EMP on the world. I think that what most liberals dislike about the book is its showing the common citizen as intelligent, compassionate and fully capable of taking care of himself and his community. It portrays the government as unable to function with civility and fairness after the restraint of elections to harness politicians greed for power, is gone. It deals with the individuals responsibility to oneself and to others to manifest good character and take responsibility for their actions.

    It's a good book.
