I will listen to it again someday. It is a book. It's just not a Clancy...
The ending was predictable. But the execution of the ending was exciting.
Therein lies the problem... Since there were 4... 5, maybe 6 characters in the whole book, I guess you have to go with the star, Dom.
There really weren't any moving moments. It's an action thriller. The bullets do all the moving.
Considered a "Campus" novel, but this is not the Clancy stories that built the Ryanverse. I hoped Mark had learned a thing or two from Tom, and I'm sure he did, but Tom could weave a story that wrapped around you like a blanket. Mark has presented us a pretty good screenplay!
Shelly Frasier does an excellent job of narrating. Her narration is just as moving as the story itself.
Gold, Oil and Suckers
Typical Prichard. Voice characterizations don't have a lot of range, but if you speed it up, it's pleasant enough.
A great deal of suspense, which I think is appropriate for a submarine story.
Captian Ramius, of course.
Depends on my options... I have never heard so many thickly accented characterizations in one book! J. Charles wrote the book on drawl!
I would recommend, but only at 1.25 playback speed!!
He did not... but if you speed up the playback, it's much better!
The strength of the story carries the overall performance, fortunately. The additional political and financial details may bog this one down if you just want Clancy action. If that's what you really want, go ahead and get the abridged version instead.
I have and I will! I'd listened to the abridged version many times in the past, but I couldn't pass up this new unabridged version. I loved the additional details and information.
I was not over-impressed with the voice characterizations, but I was not completely disappointed.
Though the narrator is not a
A very gripping and intricate story from Tom. It was awesome!
LDP's voice characterizations add life and depth to the story.
Overall, another outstanding story and a great performance!
I love all things Star Wars, and I've listened to every audiobook available, but Marc Thompson makes the difference. His ability to audibly define every single character is superb!
