The book is not boring but the story is very light and naive. The bad guys are stupid and useless, the good guys are super intelligent strong and smart.
The science is more in domain of fantasy, with almost no explanations at all
Where to start.
The story is very weak, as are all the characters. There is no depth in the story at all. The book is not boring, but you should not expect any excitements either.
It reminds me of a SF B movie, where the best way to enjoy it is to disconnect half of your brain.
All the historical references are inaccurate at best.
Janissaries are known from the Otoman empire, not from Persian empire.
I nice book, that continues the story of Black Jack. Author has opened a lot of new plots and possibilities for the continuation of the story.
Same style as the previous books in the series with a lot of space fight action.
The story is moving from a novel about a person “Honor Harrington” to a complex political intrigue.
It seems that the author explored all the possibilities with Honor and is moving on.
The other big change is the lack of space battle scenes.
I can still recommend this book for fans of the “Honorverse”
The series story is good but this book is just a repetition of the action seen in the first two books.
The last couple of chapters prepares you to what it seems planned to be a very long proccession of books.
A book starting a very interesting story of how wrong can it get. It reminds me a lot of George Orwells 1984.
