Tom Clancy's writing is well researched and the scope of the story is incredible especially with many twists and turns the story takes.
The double agent Cardinal. The character's bravery in the face of execution was a brilliant concept.
I really felt for Cardinal when he passed away shortly after his rescue and defection to the United States.
The leaders of the Midlands gathered in the People's Palace wish for prophecy to be heeded and wish that Richard and Kahlan would allow prophecy to lead them as well. Meanwhile Hannis Arc the leader of the remote Faijin Provence in D'Hara is plotting revenge against the House of Rahl with the aid of a Hedge Witch named Jitt. Richard discovers The Omen Machine after the sky falls in. Is the omen machine evil or just been exploited by evil people. Another great performance by Sam Tsoutsouvas and while The Omen Machine by Terry Goodkind is not as good as The Sword of Truth books it is still an enjoyable and fantastic read.
Your life is your' s alone. Rise up and live it. Wizard's 11th rule is unsaid, but inferred. Confessor concludes the original Sword of Truth series in an unexpected but incredibly beautiful way. The battle for freedom from the imperial order has begun but Richard has lost his power and is a prisoner of the imperial order. Kahlan is still unknown to everyone but a few and the world of magic is dying out as a result of the Chainfire spell contaminated by the three chimes. Surrender to Jagang and the Imperial Order maybe the only way to survive. Terry Goodkind is definitely a master of fantasy and The Sword of Truth is one of the best series in any genre ever written. Sam Tsoutsouvas gives his best performance as a narrator in his reading of Confessor. The Sword of Truth is a must read series for all fans of the fantasy genre and I recommend this series to anyone who has never read fantasy before and would like to experience what they have been missing. Absolutely love the whole series.
Wizard's tenth rule - "Wilfully turning aside from the truth is treason to one's self". In Phantom Kahlan and the Sisters of the Dark are captured by Jagang who has been manipulating the sisters all along as the deal they struck to swear loyalty with Richard Rahl to use his bond did not work as they believed it had done. The three chimes have contaminated the Chainfire spell and more then just the memory of Kahlan is been lost. Magic and everything that is touched by magic is dying. Richard is captured by a witch woman named Six and the Boxes of Orden are once again put into play. Sam Tsoutsouvas gives a brilliant narration of Phantom by Terry Goodkind the tenth and penultimate book in original 11 Sword of Truth books.
"A contradiction can not exist in reality. Not in part, nor in whole". This is the Wizard's Ninth Rule and is what Richard learns when a chainfire event is set off by four Sisters of the Dark and no one but he can remember Kahlan Amnell. The first of three Chainfire books that conclude the Sword of Truth series. Brillliantly narrated once again by Jim Bond this is a great listen and the beginning of the end of The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind, and I believe one of the best fantasy series ever written.
Talga Vasternich the Wizard's Eight Rule meaning Deserve Victory is what Richard learns after been poisoned by a group of pristinely ungifted people who wish for Richard to destroy the Imperial Order army that is occupying their land, in return for the antidote. What Richard and Kahlan learn is that a weapon called a slide created using dark magic and a wizard named Nicolas is controlling the army and is spying on their camp and is intent on claiming Kahlan and killing Richard for Jagang in return for the land of D'hara. If this is not enough Richard's gift is also killing him, and it is only a matter of time before either the poison or his gift will kill Richard. This is another brilliant novel in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind and is again well narrated by Jim Bond. A great read and a great listen.
Life is the future, not the past. This is the Wizard's Seventh rule. The Pillars of Creation introduces Richard's half-sister Jenssen and his half-brother Oba Rahl. They are holes in the world, they have absolutely no magic and magic can not touch them. They are a danger to the world of magic if left alive and the Keeper of the Underworld is speaking to them and Emperor Jagang is using them to destroy Richard and the world of magic. Great narration by Jim Bond and another masterpiece from Terry Goodkind.
Faith of the Fallen is an amazing and incredible story of how the spirit of love and freedom can triumph over the evil of tyranny. As the Wizard's Sixth Rule says "The only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason". John Kenneth delivers a great performance of, I believe probably one of the most emotionally captivating stories in The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. This story will have you yearning to set your spirit free.
"Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds will betray a lie", is the lesson Richard and Kahlan learn in Soul of Fire Book 5 in The Sword of Truth series. Kahlan unwittingly released the three chimes upon the world when she saved Richards life in Temple of the Winds, and as a result magic is dying. Together they travel to Anderith which is protected by the mysterious weapon the Dominie Dirtch, to try and set things right. A great read and listen although Buck Schimer tends to become a tad monotonous, in his narration after a while. Still an enjoyable listen and another great story in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.
"There is magic in sincere forgiveness, in the forgiveness you give, but more so in the forgiveness you receive". This is the Wizard's Fourth Rule, learned by Richard and Kahlan in Temple of the Winds. Emperor Jagang sets loose a plague upon the world, a prophecy says that the Mother Confessor will betray Richard in her blood, the Temple of Winds sends a warning via three nights of red moon, Richard and Kahlan will marry but not to each other, a young woman named Nadine arrives at the palace claiming she will marry Richard, and Richard meets his half-brother Drefan Rahl a healer of the Raug-Moss. All makes for another amazing tale from Terry Goodkind. Dick Hill gives an excellent performance of the audiobook that deserves a Five Star rating. Absolutely brilliant.
Passion rules reason, for better or worse the Third Wizards Rule is the lesson learnt in Blood of the Fold. This time Kahlan, Richard and their allies must fight the Emperor Jagang's Imperial Order and the Blood of the Fold, as well as Mistwriths and Sister's of the Dark to prevent the New World been conquered and ruled over for a thousand years by Jagang from the Palace of the Prophets. Another brilliant masterpiece in The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. The narration performance from Buck Schimer is good but a little to monotonous at times, still well worth the money to listen to the book.
