Famously a playboy, Warren Beatty has also been one of the most ambitious and successful stars in Hollywood. Several Beatty films have passed the test of time, from Bonnie and Clyde (which confirmed for him the importance of controlling the projects he was involved in) to Shampoo, Heaven Can Wait, Reds (for which he won the best director Oscar), Bugsy, and Bulworth.

This is more a history of the various films that Beatty created. It provides little insight into the man or his character.

Amazon.com started off delivering books through the mail. But its visionary founder, Jeff Bezos, wasn't content with being a bookseller. He wanted Amazon to become the everything store, offering limitless selection and seductive convenience at disruptively low prices. To do so, he developed a corporate culture of relentless ambition and secrecy that's never been cracked. Until now.

    Story
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Really too bad that this book didn't get into depth on the characters and the essential plot. It's more of business journalist's compilation of anecdotes and Wall St commentary. The genius of the service and the leaders aren't really captured.

What was most disappointing about Brad Stone’s story?

Thin and superficial more journalist style

Would you listen to another book narrated by Pete Larkin?

    Yes well read

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Everything Store?

Scenes where he recants some negative analyst reports and reactions. I don't think the Steve Jobs book contained such a Wall St viewpoint.

    Any additional comments?

Someone should take another stab at the Bezos story.

A teen idol at 15, an international icon and founder of the Brat Pack at 20, and one of Hollywood's top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences. Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

Interesting life and lessons learned. Child star, maturing actor and then entertainment business person. Interesting stories of the life and the projects and the characters he encountered along the way.

From Andre Agassi, one of the most beloved athletes in history and one of the most gifted men ever to step onto a tennis court, a beautiful, haunting autobiography. Agassi brings a near-photographic memory to every pivotal match and every relationship. Never before has the inner game of tennis and the outer game of fame been so precisely limned.

Patrick says: "Just an Incredible Story!"
    "Highly recommended"
    Overall

Just a great and inspiring story.
