Declan Fitzgerald had always been the family maverick, but even he couldn't understand his impulse to buy a dilapidated mansion on the outskirts of New Orleans. All he knew was that ever since he saw Manet Hall, he'd been enchanted - and obsessed - with it. So when the opportunity to buy the house comes up Declan jumps at the chance to live out a dream.

I absolutely loved this book!!! It was filled with intrigue, mystery, love, passion and just the right amount of humor to warm your heart. I loved they way Sandra Burr did the before version and James Daniels the present day version. Both have wonderful voices. I've always loved Nora Roberts and this is definitely one of her better works, though I thought the end was a tad bit rushed.

The vicious decapitation of Stanley Preston, a wealthy, socially ambitious plantation owner, at Bloody Bridge draws Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, into a macabre and increasingly perilous investigation. The discovery near the body of an aged lead coffin strap bearing the inscription King Charles, 1648 suggests a link between this killing and the beheading of the deposed seventeenth-century Stuart monarch.

To say that wrong doers get justice is an understatement! It would be right to say that they get what's coming to them!! I really love the 'love, hate' relationship Lord Jarvis and Lord Devlin have for each other. It's just so comical. I was able to guess who the suspect was in the first novel in the series, but I must say that C.S.Harris' writing has improved so drastically that no one is able to guess who the culprit is. Amanda is a constant thorn in everyone's side especially Sebastian's! I've taken quiet a dislike for her and her haughty nature. Justice usually comes to everyone but Amanda never got her justice and neither did her husband in the first novel. I still waiting for C.S.Harris to put Amanda in her place.

Life is not easy for the poor relations of England’s upper crust, but fate and clever schemes bring them together. Lady Fortescue and Colonel Sandhurst hatch a plan: What if they were to transform her decrepit Bond Street home into a posh hotel, offering their guests the pleasure of being waited upon by nobility? With the help of other down-and-out aristocrats, they do just that, and London’s newest hotel, The Poor Relation, is born. The establishment is an immediate hit with London’s most illustrious citizens, save the Duke of Rowcester....

This book was a very short read, I'm usually into longer bigger books, the reason I picked this book is cause I'm a fan of Regency novels and cause Davina Porter was reading it. The book does enlighten you to the plight of the poor relation and in a sly humorous way they all band together to sustain themselves. Especially in a time when it was considered degradation to get into trade. They not only get into trade but actually make it a success!!
It was a very light read, but a pleasant one!!

Now Sebastian is lured into a dangerous investigation of the marchioness's death - and his mother's uncertain fate.

I must say that audible is not being fair. They had books 1,6,7,8,9,10. Which was to said to be able to be read as stand alone too. Which is soooo wrong. After I finished Bk10 Audible put up Bk2 which I've just finished reading and find that I'm left with mixed feelings. I know that Kat and Sebastian will never be together and that Sebastian finds love again with Hero. But to read how much he cares about Kat now and wants to make an honest woman out of her just hurts me. And there is so much that we find out about Sebastian and the mother that he thought dead so long ago. I just wish audible wouldn't do this to us by putting up gaps in our story series!!!

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover, Bones, at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

This is the third in the series of Night Huntress novels and I must say JF is bringing the series along beautifully. There is not much repetition, which would bore anyone to death. The story line is coming along very nicely and the I really like the way JF is evolving the characters. This is a definite must read for anyone who is into vampires and vampire slayers.

It's 1811, and the threat of revolution haunts the upper classes of King George III's England. Then a beautiful young woman is found savagely murdered on the altar steps of an ancient church near Westminster Abbey. A dueling pistol found at the scene and the damning testimony of a witness both point to one man - Sebastian St. Cyr, Viscount Devlin, a brilliant young nobleman shattered by his experience in the Napoleonic Wars.

Absolutely brilliant, It gives you a look and appreciation of Crime Scene Investigation without the modern day perks of computer analysis, finger prints and DNA. There is a certain dark humor which I really enjoyed, very strong characters which I wouldn't have been able to read without. The story is gripping, the characters move you, and the best of all Davina Porters narration and voice makes your toes curl with ecstasy.

I can't download the second in the series fast enough!!!

I'm only halfway through the book right now but I've already checked thrice to see that the author isn't Nora Roberts. The book is a very light read. Frivolous and not having much of a story line and bare remnants of a mystery. The story line also doesn't really catch you and make you want to read. Nothing to hold your interest. So far it's a 1 star...

...The book now done, I can clearly say that my views have not changed one bit!! The thread of a mystery that we are to be following is still hanging unsolved and the book ended very abruptly. This mirage of a mystery is to be continued in the rest of the series, that is if anyone can stomach having to read the rest of the series!!!

I love Scots and Highland books, and I must say that this book was no different. I enjoyed the way the story flowed, there was not much romance between Aidan and Lleas which suited me just fine. There was so much description to the landscape and the ancient ways that I really enjoyed. I will be reading the rest of this series.

I must say this book took my breath away. Kat as the female character calls herself is a half vamp, being conceived by a newly created vamp raping her mother. A shame, and vengeance which her mother carries and makes her carry. Seeing that she goes out at night to kill those awful creatures. This is when she meets Bones a 200+ year old vamp, who initially takes her under his wings trains her as a vampire slayer and later becomes her love interest.

The action in this book is fast paced and makes you want to cheer for Kat. I can't wait to get to the other books in this series!

A heart-stopping crime thriller from the author of three consecutive No. 1 bestsellers, including Birthdays for the Dead and the DI Logan McRae series. He's back... Eight years ago, ‘The Inside Man' murdered four women and left three more in critical condition - all of them with their stomachs slit open and a plastic doll stitched inside. And then the killer just … disappeared. Ash Henderson was a Detective Inspector on the initial investigation, but a lot can change in eight years.
