The audio edition enhanced the print version - I love Dorothy Gilman novels so I am partial to print first and audio second. I think though that I laughed a bit more with the audio version of A Nun in the Closet,
I love Robert B Parker's Spenser series - read all the books (yep the hard and soft copies). Have listened to the tape, the Mp3, and now the Ipad versions. Love the stories still and even more - A Catskill Eagle is one that was worth a "credit" to listen to all over again. I enjoy the dynamics between Spenser, Susan, and Hawke. As well as the interaction with characters that have weaved their way thru the pages in previous story lines. Good book. Great Characters. Mr Parker did a great job and the narration is pretty good too!
Read the whole series a few years back and Laughed so hard! Mystery wrapped with much family humor - Southern Charm! Listening to the story still sends me into chuckles and lots of laughter. Lighthearted mystery for an enjoyable listen!
Bought this as a CD many moons ago ..played it on a trip, passed it on to family and friends and the enjoyment was shared. May seem a bit disjointed at first - I had no clue that I would laugh out loud often as well as shed some tears. It is a good feel story. Blue bird of happiness has nothing on this Redbird!! (So now I bought it for Ipad to enjoy all over again!)
Found lots of laughter in this novel - good to have the group cast in the chapters. If you have no clue on my headline review - well, take a listen or pick up the book to read. It is amusing and I am not even thru the book yet. I am savouring many of the chapters while at work so have to stop back for a listen when home. I like this one ..Thanks!
Peter & Rina are back to the story line I enjoy - part family & part police stuff. Been lost in the narration during this week's night shift of work - loving every moment I can listen. Think my cubicle co-workers are amused at my verbal comments and physical cringes - too often I am the quiet one. Tonight (8/15), I get to savor the finale. THE BEAST reminds me of my excitement of reading THE RITUAL BATH so many moons ago.
The change of sounds sometimes distracts me from the hypnosis..either too many ..or too sharp..I do better with water and wind..might just have to play it more often to get comfortable with the audio.
I think I am more attune to the guy's voice than to the lady. I don't often listen to this one since I find it too long and a bit tedious. But, 3 stars since I have been able to utilize it every so often even if I don't listen to all of it.
Maybe I have to be more mellowed ..I'll keep trying.
Not depressed so not too keen on the blurb for the book..but the tunes are ok..sometimes too noisy..or maybe I am too used to smooth tones of others. I gave it 4 stars overall since I was happy with my self after a session. So, something must be working within the audio.
His voice ..his words...I tend to doze within 2 minutes..great for my pre-work 2 hour nap. When I really need my sleep and I am restless ...this listen becomes my solution!
GURGEVICH STARTED ME ON THE SELF DEVELOPMENT PHASE ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO. PICKED UP A PRE-RECORDED MP3 PLAYER AT THE LIBRARY AND KEPT ON RE-NEWING IT. ENDED UP PAYING BIG BUCKS FOR THE PRE-LOADED MP3 JUST TO HAVE HIM NEARBY EVERYDAY. SO, THOUGHT I'D ENJOY THIS NEW ONE OF DEEP SLEEP.
IT IS OK. WAS REALLY GOOD UNTIL I ENDED BEING TO RESTLESS TO STAY IN MY "TRANZ" MODE AND PAID ATTENTION TO THE WORDS. GOT THE GIGGLES ON A FEW PASSAGES THRU NOSTRILS..
HOPE TO GET BACK TO STEVEN'S SELF HYPNOSIS SOON - MAYBE I'LL GET MY DEEP SLEEP AFTER THE HOLIDAYS.
