Best of series!
Every plot and subplot came with a new twist to the story. More happens to the characters in this book than in all the others in the series, except for perhaps, The Last Camel Died at Noon. With many "ah ha" moments to round out the characters, on point historical details, and revelations this is my favorite book of the Amelia Peabody series.
Nefret's confession to Amelia about her feelings for and earlier relationship with Rames was unexpected.
Sethos' final moments with the Emersons.
There's a good story in there somewhere, but abridging this book really degraded the plot.
She's always a terrific narrator!
I'm trying all of them; I'm a real fan of the series.
She voices the characters so perfectly I can envision each one in my mind.
Unabridged versions leave gaps in the story and "Huh?" often popped up in my thoughts.
