I have read all the books in this series and seriously loved them. This one was good but to tell the truth the character of Beth really annoyed me at first. she improved with the story but man she was a real bitch at first. I liked Nick a lot, hard not to with that personality. But I did fell that he should have seriously toke a stronger stand with her. Because, really, NO man in his right mind would have put up with the crap she put him through in the very beginning. get real.
I'm finding it difficult to actually think of something that I really liked about this book, unfortunately nothing really stands out about it. It was simply OK. There is a lot that I didn't like though. Perhaps these things are the reason I can't find anything to exceptional about Taking Shots. I found it extremely annoying with the continuous use of the giggling, and Shea referring to Elli and all women as GIRLS. Come on, we're supposed be talking about grownups here, not teenagers. I kept hoping that she stop using those phrase so much, but it didn't happen. It was distracting and kept thinking that it all sounded childish. Drove me crazy.
Now I have to admit that I liked the ending....it was probably the one part of the whole but that felt like I was dealing with adults and not a couple of kids. It was dramatic and sappy and a little funny at the same time. I won't go into what happened cause it was the best part of the whole book.
I liked Lucy's reading of the book. She did a good job of letting you know Shea was from the east coast and that Elli was pure southern.
Well making it sound like they were talking about adults would have made it sooooo much better. Shea was a sweetheart, maybe to sweet at times. I mean he is supposed be this hot, famous hockey player after all. Also Elli was a contradiction. They want you to think of her as this sophisticated, confident, successful woman. But most of the time she came across as anything but. Overall, Taking Shots was simply OK. It wasn't a bad read. If your really bored and you don't mind the strange use of wording in the book, then you will enjoy this book. It had it's moments. I might try another just to see if she continues with the same phrasing, if so then it will most likely be the last one I buy.
Yes. Mainly because it was Mitch and he was wonderful.
Billy and Billie were what made this story. They were phenomenal! I was in love with these two kids from start to finish.
Yes. All the books in the Dream Man series were really, really good. After all who doesn't love strong willed, seriously hot guys that think you hung the moon.
It made me laugh and cry. You had to with those two kids. God they just ripped your heart out. I must admit though, most of my strong reactions came from wanting to belt Mara...I don't do frustration well.
Mitch is this really great guy, who just happens to be the total package. He's HOT, as in singe your fingers hot. He's kind, thoughtful, strong take charge and not in a do what your told way, though he does have a few moments like that. He is exactly what every woman dreams about. Mara on the other hand drove me NUTS! At first I though she was just really funny with the whole he's a 10.5 and I'm a 2.5. You feel alittle sorry for her. figuring low self esteem, rough child hood, nightmare family, so on and so forth. You get it, you understand. But when well over half the book has gone by and she is still doing the poor me act and holding him away like he's Satan incarnate you start getting sick of it really fast. Honestly, if it hadn't been for this being Mitch's book and the kids I might not have finished it. Mara had me just that aggravated. Luckly, about 3/4 of the way through the book, it starts gets better and the story is saved. So if you can bear up to a lot of whining from Mara and hang in you will end up liking the book.
Lick is a rather deceiving title. I was afraid it would be all sex and no story but happily I was wrong. I haven't read a romance like this in a long time. David was a sweetheart in the guise a hardcore rocker. He really has it bad for Evelyn. Can we say love at first sight. There are parts that will make you laugh, smile, sigh and even sad. Luckily though love prevails with the help of common sense...lol...Can't wait for the next book to come out. I really want to see Malcolm get his 'OWN'...child bride indeed!
