Not again. You just have to hate the cruelty that humans are capable of sometime. Another great story by Collins. I can see why my nephews love this intrigue. Ah yes, District 13. Read on.
I did not find this as spellbinding as others. I thought the narrator was wonderful, but I didn't really find the story that interesting. As a matter of fact I am sick and tired of authors using the stereotypical "religious people are the most brutal, cruel and dishonest." Not sure I could recommend.
I did enjoy this story but was very surprised at how different it was from the recent movie which is what prompted me to read the book. The book has a completely different storyline and outcome and actually is more thought provoking than the movie was. It wasn't quite the thriller I was looking for but a interesting read.
McMurtry does what great authors do best. Create characters you love, embrace and carry with you forever. Such a very simple story made rich by the people who populate this world. There are no twists and turns or trick plotlines, just real people Loyalty, love, and harsh realities of the frontier. This story leaves you sad, but so happy you knew these folks.
This book moved me to tears several times. I've read comlaints about Breaking Dawn but I found it to be a great resolution to the series. Some surprises, some heartbreaks and happy endings. Totally hooked on Stephenie Meyer.
The Cullens are back, all kinds of interesting things are taking place. But now I'm annoyed with the main character through most of the book. Great read, great fun. Amazing narrator.
Like many people, not my favorite book in the series but not because Meyer didn't write a great story. It's just missing the dynamics of Twilight because one of the main characters is missing for a majority of the book. It shows you what great characters she builds when you are missing the Cullens through the majority of the book.
I loved this backstory to Meyer's Twilight series, Eclipse. The problem with Meyer is that she create characters that you love and you want to know more about. This is probably not good as a standalone read, but read with Twilight, it's a must.
While I wanted more, more flushing out the characters, backstories, the resolution, the ending is realistic and jarring. How do people rebuild their lives after so much loss? Great story. Who do you believe? Who do you trust? The government? The media? Your friends? Maybe not.
I suppose I didn't expect a young adult series to deal with the realities of war and oppression in such a realistic way. I totally bought into the story and identified with the main characters and eagerly moved on to the rest of the series. Narrator did a wonderful job.
