This was my first KK Rusch book. It was very engaging and well paced. I looked forward to my listening time and found myself with many "driveway" moments not wanting to leave the story. I enjoyed the descriptions of aliens and their worlds and cultures. Very thoughtfully put together. The narration was perfect.
A strong women character, wonderful adventures all while learning zbout history. Too bad our modern teachers don't take a page from this series. The narrator is perfect. She has the perfect voices for each character. The writing is full of wonderful visions of the surroundings, times, and people. The internal dialogue is believable and father's the story and underlying suspension and tension. We'll worth reading.
This was a real page-turner. The action was very fast paced and the story certainly different. The story takes place over only 4 months time so hold on to your hat. I hoping for a sequel to bring some of the emerging storylines together. The narration was very good.
It was so enjoyable to look for the clues and put together the mystery in this clever storyline. I highly recommend this read. The narration was reflective of the mood and pace of the activities.
This was my first Greg Bear book and it will not be my last. The science was engaging and plausibly presented. The dreams described by the characters and woven into the story are so clear that I became invested in the characters and their lives and welfare. I identified with the two main characters so closely at the end that it surprised me how my emotions paralled theirs ??? the joys, fears, anguish. I enjoyed the science immensely and the pace was good. Greg Bear brought the story lines together throughout the book and the narration was engaged and reflective of the action and mood. I highly recommend the book.
