  • Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary

    • UNABRIDGED (3 hrs)
    • By David Sedaris
    • Narrated By David Sedaris, Dylan Baker, Elaine Stritch, and others

Featuring David Sedaris's unique blend of hilarity and heart, this new collection of keen-eyed animal-themed tales is an utter delight. Though the characters may not be human, the situations in these stories bear an uncanny resemblance to the insanity of everyday life.

I loved this audio book!! The animals are much like the people we all know, love and dislike. Some are loving, others too gullible for their own good, and a few are outright greedy. This is not a 'happily ever after' group of stories, and neither is day to day life. There is a lots for us to laugh about however, and like life, if we did not have serious times, how would we appreciate the good times. I enjoyed every one of these stories and might listen to them again.

  • Listening Is an Act of Love

    • ABRIDGED (55 mins)
    • By Dave Isay
    • Narrated By Dave Isay

Drawn from the work of StoryCorps, the largest and most ambitious private oral history project in American history, comes this tapestry of the stories Americans have been sharing from their lives to leave behind to their loved ones.

    Debra says: "Touching"
    "Beautiful! Beautiful!!"
Who was your favorite character and why?

All the story tellers have their unique sweetness, truth and sincerity - the willingness to share and bare what they felt was real to them was apparent.

Have you listened to any of Dave Isay’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have always liked these performances. I can't say

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

All of the above. These characters pull you in immediately and you feel an intimate connection to them.

    Any additional comments?

I've listened to this twice. What a beautiful Thanksgiving gift.Thank you Audible. This is lovely!

    "Mesmerizing Plot"

This story gradually draws the listener in, and fully seduces the listener so that one is totally under the spell of this dog. The dog has so much to teach us, and after listening to the story, I started to reflect on my own life. During the last part of the story, I laid in bed with earphones on until 2:00 PM. I loved this story!!!
