Two dead bodies changed the course of my life that fall. One of them I knew and the other I'd never laid eyes on until I saw him in the morgue. The first was a local PI of suspect reputation. He'd been gunned down near the beach at Santa Teresa. It looked like a robbery gone bad. The other was on the beach six weeks later. He'd been sleeping rough. Probably homeless. No identification. A slip of paper with Millhone's name and number was in his pants pocket. The coroner asked her to come to the morgue to see if she could ID him.

Would you listen to W Is for Wasted again? Why?

Yes, because I like the way Sue Grafton writes and I may have missed something the first time.

What did you like best about this story?

The way Kinsey has found more family in a crude way. And the way she finds out what she is looking for in an investigation.

Which character – as performed by Judy Kaye – was your favorite?

    Kinsey

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

More like laugh and fuss. What I mean by fuss is when you knew the answer and Kinsey would leave you hanging to wait til she got around to what she wanted you to know.

    Any additional comments?

I can't wait til the next books come out to finish the alphabet X, Y & Z. Then on to more of Kinsey Millhone in a different setting at least I hope she keeps going. I have all of this series so far.

Times are changing in Pickax, and it all makes for some newsworthy notes for the "Qwill Pen". A new senior center is in the works, and a frisky production of Cats is set to delight Moose County residents, human and feline alike. Polly Duncan is off to Paris, momentarily leaving Qwill without a companion for his apple-barn concerts, and The Librarians Who Lunch are getting read to put on a show of their spectacular Art Hats to help unite Pickax with its Lockmaster County neighbors.

What made the experience of listening to The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers the most enjoyable?

Just to see what the koko was going to discover and show Mr. Q.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ko Ko because he is the smart cat who really makes these books so enjoyable.

Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?

Love listening to George Guidall and the many charactor voices he gives. I believe Chief Brody would be one of my favorite.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Does he really have 60 whiskers?

    Any additional comments?

I like Miss Brauns books because anyone can read or listen to them with no foul language. It is a sad thing that there will be no more books or stories her. May she rest in peace.

America's most beloved writer, Lilian Jackson Braun, author of twenty-four Cat Who... mysteries is now the subject of a mystery herself. In this spoof by one of her most ardent admirers, her beheaded body has been discovered in the men's room of a gay bar in Lower Manhattan. The police are baffled, and so it is up to Braun's eccentric writer friend, James Q. (Qafka), and his Siamese cats Ying-Ton and Poon-Tang to solve the ghastly mystery.
