This book is well written ... Jackamoe and Kate make great leads, but it is wonderful to discover love through everyone's eyes thanks to the letters to Juliet. I could totally see this as a movie on the ABCFamily channel, full of vivid costuming and young fun actors taking place in Verona, Italy.
One More Gifted book from Colleen Hoover. She spins this intricate web of confessions that make Owen and Auburn’s story slowly reveal itself. One May Guess at whose Confession will be bigger. You end up trapped in the center wanting to jump to the end to know what confession might break them completely… but you can’t because you don’t want to miss a minute of this incredible book.
Sebastian York has always been my favorite male Narrator for his portrayal of alpha males. Owen is definitely not an alpha male, he is a sensitive artist. I was thinking that Sebastian wouldn't work in the role... being like a loud drum solo instead of the intricate guitar solo you expected. Thank goodness Sebastian pulled it off. In the beginning of the book he portrays Owen with a soft almost boyish sweetness as he welcomes Auburn into his studio. As Owen life and confessions unravel, Sebastian bring the power back into his voice as he fights for what he wants. He captures all the nuances in the book from the sweet confessions in the tent to the intense moments in the Art Studio.
As for Elizabeth Louis, she shines throughout the book. She is completely believable as Auburn’s character and the way she captures Auburn and Owens interactions with shy reserve to intense desire had me on the edge of my seat.
Colleen’s made an excellent choice of Elizabeth and Sebastian to bring alive this amazing book full of emotional highs & lows along with some extreme hate that might require a gun toting Bestie (just sayin’). The pair were like the perfect duet pulling you in with their harmonizing voices and leaving you ready to put it on repeat to listen to over and over again.
OMG… One Must Give this book a listen.
I am usually not one to be charmed by cover art, but there is something about this girl on the cover that makes me want to know her soul.
This book provides several twist and turn through out as Sophia searches to find her history and know who she is. Charles becomes part of the adventure providing amazing gestures of love and true confidence in her every move and true concern for her well being. All the characters are beautifully written and captivate you from the start. There is a link between all the elements and each paranormal life form which adds a new dimension to stories that have been told before.
Sarah McKee did an excellent job of bringing each character to life. I was pulled in by Ivory's allure, by Charles' driven need to protect, and by Sophia's desire for knowledge. As each new character was added, Sarah brought more depth and richness to their voices that left me hanging onto each word and want more.
I am not a vampire fan, but this series had me wanting more.
I am looking forward to book 2...
BRILLIANT.... AMAZING.... PHENOMENAL...Colleen Hoover did it again. I finished it in one evening... loved the lyrics, so downloaded the cd and started over again. This is a must read, better yet, get the audio version. The narrator's provide so much emotion in the reading of the story...
I don't want to write any spoilers, but how Sydney and RIdge's lives intertwine is so incredible heart wrenching and warming at the same time. Also, Warren provides the right amount of comic relief. I have to place this as my #1 book to listen to this year. If I had as many stars in the sky to rate this book by, I would use every single one.
This has to be one of the best Romantic Comedies I have ever listened to. It is told completely from Drew's point of view... It was like you were just hanging out with him on the couch as he tells you his story. I laughed so hard ... one of those not so cute laughs with snorts and tears kind of funny. And Sebastian York was FABULOUS... totally believable. I just loved it! I just wish I had 5 more stars to add and give this book a perfect 10!
So I want to start on something positive, I absolutely loved Emma Galvin's Narration. She is one of the best out there.
As for the storyline, I was very disappointed in the fast then slow pace of the book. It seemed patched together and didn't flow well. I felt all their plans happened so quickly and some very important characters lost who they were in the other two books. Allegiant lacks the intensity and building of anticipation. As for the main characters, I expected more from Tobias who seemed to be wimpy the entire time. And Tris seemed too willing to except everything. And the ending was horrible ... I get some of it but way too drawn out ... The last 5 chapters could have been shortened. I was expecting so much more from this book. Now I left heartbroken and wishing I would have stopped after Insurgent.
I really enjoyed this book... It completed the series perfectly. Reed, Dori and Brooke's story lines are so incredibly well written and the ending made me cry happy tears! I will miss these characters. So, if you are a fan of the Between the Lines series, this book is a must!
Seriously... Don't! The sex wasn't even that hot ... Not worth a penny and I am a huge Sylvia Day fan. Narrator was AWESOME! Just bad material to work with.
The story is completely romantic... Liam is the absolute perfect boy friend that Amanda needs. Some of the writing was hard to believe and predictable. All the characters were great, just the story lines need to be developed more.
I am so happy I downloaded the audio version rather than buy the ebook as Leah Mallach and Sean Crisden brought the characters to life and made you completely invested in what happened to each of them. Without that the book would not have been so entertaining.
I was super excited about this last book. It was such a huge let down. The first two books were full of romance and smoking hot sex scenes that had something to do with the overall plot.
This one just seemed like there was some plot thrown in around sex scenes that all started off with Nikki being angry or emotional about something, and her talking about how his touch changes her mind. I think the book would have been better split in two. That way the sex scenes would have made more sense and the plot would have had more time to develop. Who would have ever thought I would be saying less hot smokey sex scenes ...
If you started the trilogy, you will need to listen to this book ... Just try to focus on the plot and not the misplaced sex.
With that all being said, I would love a novella on Jamie ... Maybe hooking her up with Damion's former tennis friend.
