Israeli art restorer and occasional secret agent Gabriel Allon has a problem. He finds a prominent Swiss banker dead in front of his Raphael, and he's the prime suspect. After some diplomatic intervention, Allon is freed. However, the banker's daughter tells him that her father's French Impressionist paintings, acquired under dubious circumstances during WWII, have been stolen by the murderers. Once Allon knows about the wartime misdeeds, he is pursued by a shadowy killer known only as "the Englishman."

Would you try another book from Daniel Silva and/or John Lee?

    No

What do you think your next listen will be?

    something with more likeable characters

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of John Lee?

I don't think the problem was with the narrator as much as the story itself

What character would you cut from The English Assassin?

I didn't like any of them

    Any additional comments?

I only listened to the first 8 chapters, then I just gave up out of boredom

  • 11-22-63: A Novel

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

    What disappointed you about 11-22-63?

The story dragged, I thought we were never going to get to the part about the assassination.
When you finally get to the main point of the story, it becomes very rushed, it's like once he got to the point, he didn't know what to do with it. I didn't like the language, if you cut out the F___ word it would have been 2 chapters shorter.

What was most disappointing about Stephen King’s story?

It started out so well, then went steadily downhill.

What three words best describe Craig Wasson’s performance?

    It was OK

What character would you cut from 11-22-63?

The whole middle of the book.

    Any additional comments?

The over-use of the F word indicates the author has a limited vocabulary and is using it as a filler. I got bored listening to the same word over and over.
