what was considered a classic is actually outdated and boring. Nothing much to be learned from these "teachings"
mindnumbingly boring and is nothing like the overview implied. I thought it was a story about a village in Italy. Turns out its about a whole lot of "hasbeens" in the performing arts.
George Elliot is quite heavy going but once you get into the style, its well written. It was well read. yes I would try another book.
You can't really change it. That is just how they wrote in those days. I kept me entertained for a long time so well worth the cost.
She reads well and keeps one interested.
Yes. I think the scenery and costumes would be wonderful.
its a classic. Shows us a different time in history and a different way of expressing ones self. The prose is quite round about and laborious, but attractive in its own way once you get used to it.
a different reader. The person chosen is totally unsuited to the content of the book
the experiment of labeling bottles of water then freezing them. Amazing outcome.
she sounded bored and not very interested in the content which is so exciting. Completely the wrong voice for this book and really spoiled the whole thing
The content is fascinating
don't get bored, older women to read scientific books
Two wrongs don't make a right but it is great to hear that other countries are also corrupt, and not just South Africa where I live
Behind the scenes information that you don't hear on the news
How governments rip us all off
I really liked the way the author did not take sides as both parties are to blame for the problems that USA seems to have. As an outsider, it seems strange that you can't find better Presidential candidates out of all your Millions of people in USA
Not very high as the content is a bit dry but very interesting and fills a lot of gaps about how things panned out since the WW2. Certainly worth buying
non fiction so no characters
non fiction but interesting about how current Middle East problems developed
Things you thought you knew about Europe since WW2 but didn't
Very informative and great as a audio since I could never plough through this in book form
so witty and enjoyable
other Wodehouse/Jeeves books
Jeeves and Bertie
yes but I try to strech it out
I love all the Jeeves books and Jonathan Cecil is the best performer
