From the author of the number-one national best seller Three Cups of Tea, the continuing story of this determined humanitarian and the schools he has established. In this dramatic first-person narrative, Greg Mortenson recounts his relentless, ongoing efforts to establish schools for girls in Afghanistan; his extensive work in Azad Kashmir and Pakistan after a massive earthquake; and the unique ways he has built relationships with Islamic clerics, militia commanders, and tribal leaders.

I loved 3 Cups of Tea and have gone to all venues in Eugene OR where Greg has spoken. He is a true Hero. This book was great and inspiring. I found myself distracted by the narration. it would have been better with a male voice

  • All the Shah's Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East Terror

In a cloak-and-dagger story of spies, saboteurs, and secret agents, Kinzer reveals the involvement of Eisenhower, Churchill, Kermit Roosevelt, and the CIA in Operation Ajax, which restored Mohammad Reza Shah to power. Reza imposed a tyranny that ultimately sparked the Islamic Revolution of 1979 which, in turn, inspired fundamentalists throughout the Muslim world, including the Taliban and terrorists who thrived under its protection.

amazonman says: "Fascinating & Insightful View of US/ Iran History"
    "A must read"
    Overall

This book puts the present Iranian situation in historical perspective. I learned a lot about the plight of the Iranian people and their struggles in the 1920's to 1950's. It has more to do with the Father of Iranian democracy than the Shah of Iran. The book flows like an action novel.
    Enjoy!

It exists at the fringes of Washington, D.C., has no power, and consists solely of four eccentric and downtrodden members whom society has forgotten. Their simple goal is to find the "truth" behind their country's actions.

Alex says: "The Good, Bad, and the So-So"
    "Surprised at the low ratings"
    Overall

I have listened to a few of the David Baldacci books. They have been long and sometimes would get bogged down in too much detail. I liked this one because of the plot, the mystery and was fun trying to work out the characters next steps. It was another FBI / secret service story but had good twists!
