Young Savannah Dubrinsky was a mistress of illusion, a world-famous magician capable of mesmerizing millions. But there was one - Gregori, the Dark One - who held her in terrifying thrall. Whose cold silver eyes and heated sensuality sent shivers of danger, of desire, down her slender spine. With a dark magic all his own, Gregori - the implacable hunter, the legendary healer, the most powerful of Carpathian males - whispered in Savannah's mind that he was her destiny.

Like all of Feehans books in the Dark Series, this one kept you on the edge of your seat. The storyline is good.. though after reading my 3rd book in this series... I am over it.
These stories are a bit romantic and always at the end of the story everything kind of falls into place and it turns out okay. With this book it was no different but what I don't like is the way these Carpathian men treat their lifemates, especially in the sex scenes (sorry, I don't consider this as making love), and believe me.. there are plenty of them.
In this particular book it was extremely violent, Gregori was so twisted and dark that the first time he had sex with Savannah, who was still a virgin.. he almost killed her and to make matters worse he did this without her consent. to me this is rape.
I am surprised nobody ever commented on this before in reviewing her books in this series.
Nonetheless, it is a good, easy read and if you enjoy this particular genre, you will probably enjoy this one as well.

Don't get me wrong. The book had a great plot and kept me interested enough to want to keep listening. I just get tired of the man thing and always blubbering on about why she cannot fall for him and then when she does the blubbering continues, but for another reason now. For this reason alone, the book seemed to take forever to move forward. I always enjoy listening to Meredith Mitchell,, she does a good job with all the voices.

Alice Clark, a Wyr and schoolteacher, has had two friends murdered in as many days, and she's just found the body of a third. She arrives at the scene only minutes before Gideon Riehl, a wolf Wyr and current detective in the Wyr Division of Violent Crime - and, as Alice oh-so-inconveniently recognizes at first sight, her mate. But the sudden connection Riehl and Alice feel is complicated when the murders are linked to a serial killer who last struck seven years ago, killing seven people in seven days. They have just one night before the killer strikes again. And every sign points to Alice as the next victim.

Two very good stories. I thought I was just going to get one story out of this book but ended up with two delightful little stories that were both good and well done. The book held my attention and the main female characters in both stories were both awesome.

When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate - he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in 19th-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

I had to start this book over twice because it got so boring I didn't think I could finish it. Finally about mid-way through, the book picked up and became very interesting. Things finally moved along at a faster than snail's pace and I enjoyed the story very much.
The narrator was good, as always.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ghouls Rush In to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print edition .. so I have nothing to compare it to.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed Peyton and Ryan's courtship.. so to speak. It was nice to see them become friends and things slowly go from there. But, the whole story was good. I enjoyed hearing about her new home and the plot was excellent. The Axeman. Everything seemed very believable. I also enjoyed the two that came to exorcise the house. The freezing air, the house shaking and moaning. I wonder what will happen when Ryan finds out she is possessed? Guess we will find out in the next book?

What about Kate Rudd’s performance did you like?

I thought she did an excellent job with Peyton's voice but I wasn't thrilled with The way Ryan sounded. He was described as extremely handsome and very manly that the voice just did not do him justice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed in some spots but really it was neither funny or sad.

It's a lousy first day on the job for Nina Blackman. A patient, loopy from the anesthesia, bites her. At least he was cute. The next morning, Nina wakes up with a set of razor-sharp fangs, bionic vision, supersonic hearing, and a taste for blood. But there's a good explanation: It's her patient, Long Island vampire Greg Statleon. Is Nina willing to commit to one man for eternity, even if they are perfect for each other?

I absolutely loved this book. It was most excellent. I laughed, cried and couldn't quit listening.
The story pulled you in and kept you there for its entirety and the humor, the humor was a pleasant surprise and done in such good taste that it had me laughing out loud more than once.
The characters were fun and colorful and easily liked. The story was good and well told.
My only complaint was the voice of Greg. The narrator did great with all the voices except his. He sounded pompous and self-centered.. yet his character never once acted that way in the book. So the voice just didn't do Greg justice and at times it irritated me. Oh, and once in awhile Nina's nastiness towards people got to me, but she softened a bit around the edges as the story wore on.. which was a good thing.
If you enjoy paranormal romance you should give this one a try. You won't be sorry.
Well, I am off to buy the next book in the series, See you on the flip side.

Rafael De La Cruz has spent centuries hunting vampires with his brothers. With each passing year, his capacity to feel emotions has grown weaker and weaker, until finally there's barely a memory of one left - only sheer willpower keeps him from turning into the very abomination he hunts. But it'll take more than will to keep him away from the woman who is meant to be his and his alone.

I loved this book, which surprised me. The book started out kind of slow but you really grow to love Colby, the leading female character.. she is a hard worker, doesn't let no man push her around or use her and deeply loves her brother and sister. She runs a ranch by herself with the help of her younger brother Paul and she loves horses.
Weird stuff starts happening around the ranch and to make matters worse, her fathers family shows up after many years and wants the ranch and her brother and sister. This is when you meet the main male character, Rafael De La Cruz.
Murder and mayhem over takes Colby's life and to make matters worse she can't keep her hands or her mind off Rafael. He entangles her in manipulation and takes what was not given to him freely. You hate him.
Throughout the book I just kept shaking my head and saying.. "there is no way this book can end on a happy note." As things go from bad to worse. BUT, I was happily mistaken. By the end, I saw things in a different light.. as did Colby.
Give this book a go.. I think you will be happy you did.

Only Edgers like Rose can easily travel from one world to the next, but they never truly belong in either.

Would you consider the audio edition of On the Edge to be better than the print version?

I have never read the print edition so I have nothing to compare it to.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On the Edge?

Aside from the sweet way Rose and Declan fell in love, a very memorable spot for me.. was with Georgie.. Rose's youngest brother.. he was so fragile and sickly. It was because he kept bringing things back to life.. people and animals because he could not let go. Declan finally got Georgie to see the error of his thinking by showing Georgie how the earth would get terribly overcrowded and people and animals would die.. from lack of food, etc. Georgie made up his mind to let all the things he kept alive.. he would let go and let die. They went into the yard and he started summoning all the animals and his grandpa.. he kept grandpa alive too. by the time Georgie had gotten all in his yard.. there were literally hundreds and hundreds of animals. It was breath taking to hear. Now they knew why Georgie was so sickly. He was keeping all alive with his own white light. they were sucking his life from him minute after minute.. till they all died and Georgie slowly regained his health.

What three words best describe Renée Raudman’s voice?

scratchy and irritating. I hated Declan's voice the most of all.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

definitely. But it was good to take in small bites as well. I enjoyed this book plenty.

What made the experience of listening to Crystal Cove the most enjoyable?

This book is clearly a romance novel but it is so unique that you easily forget you are listening to romance. It is a warm, feel good book that keeps you on the edge of your seat as the plot develops. You can't help falling in love with the characters, as they draw you in.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Justine. Her quest for love is a long one yet her spirit is unwavering. She fights for what she wants and never looks back. She is such a strong, loving character.

Which character – as performed by Tanya Eby – was your favorite?

Justine or her male counterpart.. though he does some shady stuff. Like stealing her book and putting both their lives in danger because of it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Unique romantic thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat.

    Any additional comments?

    Great Listen.

What made the experience of listening to Black Night the most enjoyable?

The story-line for this book was extremely entertaining.

What did you like best about this story?

The story line was excellent but left too many un-answered questions. I hope she is writing a book 3 for this series so there is at least closure to all the questions still looming in ones head.

What about Coleen Marlo’s performance did you like?

She sounded more up-beat and not so monotone as she did in the first.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely.. but again, as with Book 1, the length of the book did not allow it.

    Any additional comments?

I still love Beezel, the garoyle the most.
