The story was pretty good. A little too "romantic" for me but it was okay. The only problem, to me, was when the narrator attempted to speak with a Cajun accent it sounded more like an Irish accent :)
I waited so long for this book. Practically counted the days until it was released because I so enjoyed the first two books in this trilogy. I have loved every book Ken Follett has written, except this one. Far too much of this book was dedicated to fairly recent politics. The entire book seemed to be a 'hodgepodge' of different stories, very loosely related. To say I am disappointed in this finale to the trilogy is a definite understatement.
This book is well written. The narration was pretty good. I just found it somewhat boring. If you enjoy books about average families this will be perfect for you.
The accent was too much 'work' to understand easily. Plus, I discovered there were supposed to be parts in the story with 'extreme' animal cruelty. I do not read or listen to anything concerning animal cruelty. A waste of a credit for me.
Was the author in a hurry to finish this book? Very strange, unfulfilling ending.
Good follow-up to the first in the series. I know these are meant for 'younger' listeners but I enjoyed this one as much as the first. My only question is, when is the third in the series being released?
This did not seem like a Stephen King book to me. It could have been written by many 'mystery/thriller' authors. I am not sure what was missing, maybe that slight hint of something supernatural? I just don't know. The story was okay but I found it to be more than slightly predictable. I was looking forward to this book but must admit I was a little disappointed.
There was a little too much explicit gore and sex in this story for me to really enjoy it. Apart from that the book was quite good, but too much of the afore-mentioned things for me to give it a higher rating.
This story was very similar to a John Saul novel I recently listened to. This one was okay but somewhat predictable and not a 'suspense' novel. In my opinion, not one of Dean Koontz's best by any means. I was a little disappointed by this one.
This book was not 'too bad'. It kept my interest to some degree but I found it to be somewhat predictable. There was not real 'mystery' and I didn't find it that 'suspenseful'. To be honest I skipped some chapters toward the end because I could figure out what was going to happen. No real surprises. If you want something easy to listen to on a long trip I would suggest this story. It will not distract you from driving too much because it is an 'easy' listen.
The longer I listened to this book the more involved I became with all the characters. Really good story and excellent narration. I cried my eyes out at the end.
