    Story

I was so disappointed I wanted to cry. After waiting almost 2 years this is what we get? I have really loved the House of Night Series--until this one. Whats up Casts? The story went on and on, almost boring at times. If the ending had been sooner in the story with some of the issues resolved, then we could have looked forward to another great story. Instead you have clearly set up to sell another book, and some of your fans may choose to avoid another disappointment.

Clary Fray just wants her life to go back to normal - but that turns out to be impossible. For one thing, her mother is still in the hospital, in a mysterious coma. For another, she and her brother, Jace, have fallen under a cloud of suspicion now that the Shadowhunter world knows that Valentine is still alive - and that Jace and Clary are his son and daughter.

So glad I tried this trilogy. Fell in love wth Clary, Jace , and Simon, they are such great characters. The storyline with the Shadow hunters and all the supernatural beings was so different from the same old blah blah (hey I love that to) It is fantastic and couldn't wait to start the next book. Also was so glad they changed the reader to Natalie Moore. She is the best!

When 15-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing, not even a smear of blood, to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

Loved the original story line. The ideal for Shadowhunters was just awesome. The characters became like friends and I felt their sadness and their joy. The narrator, Ari Graynor, was not very good and I almost returned the audio book because of it but the story was so interesting I kept listening and by the end of the book I had gotten use to her reading. Its a great story so I would highly recommend it. On to book 2.

In appearance Hercule Poirot hardly resembled an ancient Greek hero. Yet, reasoned the detective, like Hercules, he had been responsible for ridding society of some of its most unpleasant monsters. So, in the period leading up to his retirement, Poirot makes up his mind to accept just 12 more cases: his self-imposed "Labors". Each would go down in the annals of crime as a heroic feat of deduction.

Now, picking up from A Discovery of Witches' cliff-hanger ending, Shadow of Night plunges Diana Bishop and Matthew Clairmont into Elizabethan London, a world of spies, subterfuge, and a coterie of Matthew's old friends, the mysterious School of Night that includes Christopher Marlowe and Walter Raleigh. Here, Diana must locate a witch to tutor her in magic, Matthew is forced to confront a past he thought he had put to rest, and the mystery of Ashmole 782 deepens. Deborah Harkness has crafted a gripping journey through a world of alchemy, time travel, and magical discoveries.

Loved this story. A wonderful 2nd novel in the All Souls trilogy. Dianna and Matthews adventures into the 16th century were totally mesmerizing. Once again Ms Harkness intertwined real historical figures with her wonderful fictional characters resulting in a wonderful story. Can't wait for the third book. Jennifer Ikeda does another excellent job in narration.

Deep in the stacks of Oxford's Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library.

I found it hard to turn the story off. I loved how Ms Harkness mixed real historical figures with her fictional characters and changed the traditional myths and legends to add a new twist of her own. The narration by Jennifer Ikeda totally added to my enjoyment of the story. She does such a good job in changeing her tone and accent for each character it was sometimes hard to believe that only one person was reading. Couldn't wait to start Shadow of Night.

While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. That is, until Seth Grahame-Smith stumbled upon The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln, and became the first living person to lay eyes on it in more than 140 years.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommed this to anyone who loves twisted history. It was a very intriguing twist on one of our great leaders of our country. It can almost make you believe the story line is true there are so many real history references.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Abe Lincoln of course

Which character – as performed by Scott Holst – was your favorite?

I liked the way Scott Holst did all he characters.

Who was the most memorable character of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and why?

I found Henry to be the most memorable. I can't really say why without giving away too much of the story.

    Any additional comments?

Looking forward to the movie. Hope it is as good as the book.
