Yes! An excellent variety of stories I would not have read otherwise.
Every story had an outstanding reader, even if the story was not my style, all stories were entertaining and thought provoking.
Story-time shorts are super!
Yes, one more chance.
Because I got so bored with it and didn't finish it, I wished she was able to convince me of wanting to know her different characters so that I cared about any of them. They were all very two dimensional.
She was fine.
Bored. I didn't care enough about the characters to keep reading.
It took a little too long to decide if he was a jerk or not. Once we finally met Rosie, I thought there was hope. It did improve much after that.
Loved it, of course!
New York at the baseball game.
Yes. Such great development of characters and fun dialog. Plus the constant book references was like going through a friend's book case, meeting all your favorite friends, and then coming across some new ones. Loved the repeating themes. SO well done! Bravo!
Everyone says Silas Marner, but only because of the child comes into his life. It's not the same.
Wonderful expressions with the characters.
Yes. Such a treat to listen to.
One of my favorites of the summer!
Yes, the different voices for the different narrations is always a treat. The main reader is fantastic!
When Will said, "No."
Pretty much. Fascinating plot. Was hooked early and couldn't stop listening.
Looking forward to discussing this with my book club. So many themes to talk about.
Michael Beck is so fantastic! The story is fantastic! I couldn't stop listening!
The Judge. Of course I loved Letty and our hero attorney, noble and idealistic. The Judge wanted to use his power to heal the families and make things speedy and right.
Oh yes! He is always a treat!
A marvelous mystery, history, family drama.
Not if they are all like this one. George is a wonderful reader. I have heard him on other books.
Something funny, plausible, bio, but no more ridiculous combinations of terrorists, church type back drops and of course a murder where our hero saves the world. OMG!
Yes, he is a pro!
The stupid terrorist who thinks he can tunnel under the Dome of the Rock, just to blow it up. INSANE!
I did enjoy the TRUE facts at the end of the story. But come on! Either tell the true story, or just take ONE aspect and make up a good story.
Not really. I got bored.
I did not feel the tension or surprise of this story.
Convincing, pleasant, tonal.
I thought this was going to be more "Marley & Me" or "Lassie". But after awhile I lost interest in the canine/human relationships.
The parallells of the life of the detective Mike Kennedy's personal Broken Harbor and the crimes committed there.
The interview of the best friend, and the detectives trying to piece together evidence of the crime.
The second interview with the wife in the hospital. So full of tension.
"Broken Harbor" Can detective Mike Kennedy solve a clase so close to home, that may undo him?
Such brilliant parallells of mental, emotional, social and personal brokenness. Tana French is a great story teller! On the edge of my seat!
Maybe, as long as it is NOT a serial killer book. No redeeming value to this book.
A little surprising.
NO. I was left disappointed. Best left alone.
Very confusing at first. I didn't know I needed to take notes to keep track of characters, when I don't usually have to. It may have been the names are hard to remember because they are Norwegian. This is NOT anything like "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". I took 2/3 into the book to finally get hooked. I almost gave up after the scene in the forest. I vow to never read another serial killer book. No redeeming value.
The Fishing Industry of the Soviets was most interesting. The least interesting was some of the villans.
Good characters. Good voice.
It could. I was expecting a little more intrigue like Gorky Park.
