Book 2 brings more to the table. But it just doesn’t really do it for me. The trek through the VA mountains in the middle of blizzard is drawn out and to me lacks the emotionally drama that the elements would definitely cause. Basically it was more of boy I really like you but I am afraid to tell you. And I won’t trust anyone because my husband was shot in the line of fire. And then there are just stupid things that happen like, oh the bad guys are after us but let me stay in town and get captured.
What is disappointing is I like the characters Ryan and Vinnie but I didn’t like how the story developed. The premise of the story was there, it just needed I guess better editing?? Still hanging in with the series because I am interested in the potential story of the leader of this covert group Rose. I hope the author goes for it with all the grit and passion this serious has the potential to reach.
So this book based on what went on in the story appears to be book two. That being said the story was interesting. There is just enough going on to keep your interest from beginning to end. And it may be because of the cast of characters introduced. The alpha ‘s personality comes at you right off start, but why he is the way he is probably played out in book one. I would have preferred the female lead to have just a little more common sense when engaging the alpha. Maybe just a little more fire in the gut, despite her self-image. Basically this a shifter story with some romance and some action. It took me a while to get use to the narrator. But I don’t think she did a bad job. I just didn’t care for the way she did the male voices. This book is a maybe. If it goes on sale and you are looking for a shifter story give it a try.
There is so much wrong with this story, I just don’t know where to begin.
Connor as an alpha male comes off as wimpy. He is a jaguar shifter who lets his sister have way too much control over his life choices. Who does that? And Kathleen come on, she is supposed to be a trained solider, but poor me falls apart after leading and the key word is leading a mission that ends in failure. Basically like this review the story is all over the place. The premise of the book was good, but the characters not developed. The love connection is forced. Even the bad guys come off as campy.
The narrator wasn’t that great. Save your credit.
Talk about a book that draws into a story. From the start the book has you hooked because you want to hear the story within the story. I have listen to several Sandra Brown books and what is enjoyable is the story telling. And yes if you will most likely figure out who is who in this tale, but it the why of it that won’t let you walk away for the tale. This easily is one of my favorite Sandra Brown books.
Victor Slezak at first I found his narration some what annoying, so it was the story that kept me engage. But he has a style of his own and he grows on you. Similar to Jim Frangione narrations. Not the greatness job doing female voices, but the way he reads engages you. If you like a romance with some mystery and depth this is a choice.
Finally a strong female lead. Alpha males, who enhance the storyline instead of dictate it. And a good start to series. You'll find yourself involved with the secondary characters and the desire to hear their story. Romance is not over top. If you enjoy a fast easy listen for the entertainment of an action love story, then I recommend the book. If you are looking for the next best seller, a super great mystery or an erotic feast, this may not do it for you. I just like the fact of strong female leads that don't bend. Gillian Vance is new for me but does a great job.
Well let’s just turn up the fire and heat. And that is what happens with the second book of this series. Book 2 has more action and the heat is definitely turned with Vlad and Leila relationship. More interesting characters are introduced which has you thinking what ‘s next. You finally start to feel the fire between Vlad and Leila. A sexy strong alpha male who finally has to work a little for the woman he loves.
Yes get it if you liked book 1. I for one am looking forward to book 3.
The second spin off from the Cat and Bones series. What I enjoyed most about this book is Kira and how she handles one of the most power vampires within this paranormal world. What comes out of this book is a wonderful love story. The ending is a little lame but still the overbook is worth read.
A spin off from the Cat and bones series this one doesn’t disappoint. IF you enjoyed meeting both Spade and Denise from the previous series. Then you will most likely enjoy this romantic sexy and strange tale. There is romance humor action and adventure that makes this one an interesting listen from beginning to end.
I realize some relationships have their ups and downs but for Cat and Bones, I found myself in this one saying come on. Enough is enough. I mean really don’t these two deserve a break. Which I suppose that is what J Frost wants us to feel? Frustration and exhilaration. Again if you enjoy this couple and all the characters in their world then this is another good installment.
What can I say if you didn’t like the first three books then don’t bother? But if you have become a fan of the crazy ongoing relationship of Cat and Bones then climb on board for the ride. Because a ride you’ll get. This book comes down to choices for Cat and Bones and with any stormy relationship with fiery personalities there are all of those outside challenges and influences that make that choice more intense.
Yes this worth a credit
All I can say is the ride continues. And it is a good one more. The heat turns up and the drama continues. Cat’s life is changing and the challenges are more intense. She’ll need to decide which world she really wants to live in. Book 3 doesn’t disappoint. Yes it worth a credit.
